Wolf's Rain

Well well well, I'm here to talk of an obscure anime which i've come across last year when my friend burned 2 episodes on a disc for me before she left. I was immediately drawn to this anime. Very original, beautiful animation, intriguing characters, and what else can i say? it's GREAT. I recommend this anime for anime fans who wish for something original out of the bag.

The plot goes like this:

Wolves have been extinct for over 200 years. Now, a sole survivor of an extinct clan shows his face on the world. His name is Kiba, and one by one he comes across other wolves (hige, tsume, and tooboe). Kiba is the type who will not let the pride of the Wolf hang it's head in shame. Ever. Anyway, enough of character descriptions and on with the plot.
So, the wolves get together and they're on a journey to "Paradise" or the Wolf Sanctuary. Something very interesting is that the wolves have learned a trick. They can disguise themselves and walk the earth as humans. Only animals, elderly people, and really young children (they have this instinct) can really tell who, or rather what, they are.
They come across the Flower of the Moon - a girl with blood red eyes named Cheza - she is the one who'll help them find Paradise.

You can visit it's website which is:

And Aku-Tenshi, Inane, and one other scanslation site which i forgot the name to, translate the manga.

For now, i will leave you with an actual quote from the anime:

There's no way that a place such as "Paradise" could exist.
There's nothing
at the end of the world.
No matter how far one walks the same road still continues.
Even so, why do I always get up in an urge....
I can hear someone calling out...
"Aim for the Paradise"

"The key to tomorrow is to have faith for a better day."

I liked the characters, definitely. And the artwork is awesome! What I didn't really understand was the situation and the setting. It's everything from medieval to hi-technology to 1930's, that it's quite confusing. But that's me, and I'm not putting up a fight. ^^
