In my exprence I was a little wacky as a kid and I did not play football so I was a total outcast at school. And my school isn't that big. Yet when DBZ first started on Cartoon Network all those years ago only a few of us watched it. The week this came out I met and quikcly became friends with my best friend. We started talking about the latest episodes then went to drawing fan pics of them. Then we moved to more anime and grabbed a few more friends along the way. Got a friend when Inuyasha and yu yu first started got another freind with cowboy bebob. a common interest brought us toghewther. So any of you have similiar anime related storys?

I picked up the manga Dragon Knights for the first time two years ago (er, it was two years in August) and I quickly became I big fan. I wrote fanfiction, drew fanart, and even joined the Dragon Knights mailing list on Yahoo. I became close friends with several of the members and met up with them at anime conventions over the year and a half I was a member (I let because of the constant whining over Tokyopop's translation of the manga. >>; Silly and annoying, really) and I still keep in regular contact with many of the members. Heck, I even met the guy I'm dating through the mailing list.

Either than meeting friends over mbs, one time anime, well, manga brought not just us, but 4 friends together! Let me explain...

So two years ago I sat all alone in Japanese intro 11 (essentially JPN 10) and knew no one. I decided to buy a Cardcaptor Sakura manga from the corner store across the street... just to see if I could meet someone since I was too shy at the time. This one girl who was drawing Magic Knight Rayearth stuff looked over and said "You watch that too?!" and we became friends. Only days after, these other two girls that met each other in the class talked to us (another one who also liked anime) and all 4 of us became friends. We're all still friends, but strangely enough we "switched" friends. The girl I met is really good friends with a girl in the other pair and I'm really good friends with the other girl in the other pair (if you can follow me).

Yup, anime can bring you close....

I have made a friend in school because of anime. One time I brought a manga and the girl next to me saw it. She was like " I've watched that show." We just like to talk about anime and school stuff, but its a start. I have made a few good friends over shows, not just anime. In my old school I made a couple over LOTR and LOTR cards. It was so cool! We watched LOTR all the time and played the many games, though it did get more than that luckily.

Sadly, I've never made any deep friendships through animé.

Always wished I could, though.

I met my best friend in the eighth grade. It was lunchtime and she was new to my school. As soon as we started talking about Sailor Moon, I knew we would be friends.

I met one of my most closest friends through that way. She was reading a manga last year, and I pointed that out, and we talked alot...and we became friends! :D She was the first person that I met that liked anime. ^_^

She's the one that dragged me here too. So if you ever stumble onto this, thanks. :thumb:

The terrifying moldy bread incident! In elementary school, Yomi's leftover bread started rotting inside her desk! you can't imagine what happened! Not only that, but the mold had a will of its own, it was terrible! Barricading ourselves in the science prep room, we used spirit lamps and engaged in combat! Then I realized it!! If we only had the bottle of mildew remover from the bathroom, we could destroy them!!
