Any suggestions for some good anime? ^_^ Um...let's see...I don't mind violence, as long as it's not a huge amount of blood or gore. (Like...LOTR, I was fine in.) Sexual content I'd rather avoid..I don't mind a little bit of innuendo, but I'd like it to be rare. Um...I guess that's the main things in terms of content.

As for what genre...um...any. xD I'm only recently become really into anime, so I haven't seen a whole lot. Some stuff I've really enjoyed is Trigun (I've only seen the first four episodes so far, though), Castle In The Sky, Spirited Away (yeah...I"m becoming addicted to Miyazaki XD) and I've also seen parts of Gundam Seed and liked it. Oh, and I read the Marmalade Boy manga and liked it pretty well (although it could've been a little better in terms of some of the plot lines...preticularly the way Miki's parents divorce so flippantly. ^^;;; ). My tastes are pretty wide though (for example, some of my favorite books are Pride and Predjudice and Lord of the Rings), so really the main thing is just a good story with interesting characters.

I'm pretty interested in Noir, I have a friend that likes it. Is it something I'd enjoy?

I would reccommend Grave of the Fireflies. It has drama and a great story! The movie is a tear jerker. So if you want a movie that you'll always remember and may even impact your life (in a good way) this movie is it. But Kenshin is awesome too. I think the video selection depends on where you live. Because here in Austin Hollywood video and blockbuster tend to have the same # of anime rentals, just different titles. Acutally Hollywood has more VHS than dvd, Blockbuster has more dvd's. And i remember visiting family in Wisconsin and their blockbuster and hollywood video didn't have much a selection of anime. So i guess it depends on the market in that certain area.

^_^ I think I have Grave of the Fireflies at my library...I think. *tries to remember*
Oh, I hadn't thought about .hack//sign. ^_^ I'll have to try it out for my next movie rental...if they have it.

Hmm. I think the blockbuster here (at least the one I normally go to) has more selection of anime, but come to think about it I"ve never really looked a whole lot. (Probably because every time I go and pick out a Bollywood or Anime movie to watch, Dad won't watch it... )

Tsk, tsk. One of these days I'm going to make my own store that sells resonably clean anime, video games and fun, unique board games...

Now that i remember, Austin has a rental store w/ only anime. THey have thousands of titles, sell wall scrolls ands etc, the only problem is that it's all the way on the opposite side of town :( . Though Blockbuster and Hollywood has a selection, it's very limited... But i will agree w/ the others Fruit Baskets is alright and .hack//twilight is good, i like that better than .hack//sign (personal opinion). Though i doubt either blockbuster or Hollywood carries either one of those titles; or at least in my area.
And MorwenLaicoriel i like your avatar, i love the teen titans and Raven rocks!
