Please recommend me an anime title

Hi everyone,

As I don't have a lot of experience watching anime, I was wondering if someone could recommend a series to me?

I've been looking through the reviews, but I can't seem to see something along the lines of what I'm after.

I'm after something that's:

- set in a high fantasy / fantasy genre (i.e. sword and sorcery)
- has good character development
- has very little or no fanservice (no fanservice would be ideal)
- has at most, moderate levels of violence (nothing too gory, no guts, dismemberment, etc.)

If the setting is in a modern day, real-life setting, that's okay too.
