CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

Hey there brothers and sisters in Christ! I've decided to make a new art thread because I feel like I'm starting a new journey as far as art goes, with a new mindset!

I've come to realize that drawing what I like (Manga) without any afterthought won't get me far, and as I want to become better and make use of this talent that God has given me, I'm now ready to go through the very basics and work my way up to get closer to my dream of becoming an artist!

I hope that through posting my works here and getting critique I'll be able to improve, and I also hope that this thread will serve as a motivational thing for me, to be able to share my works and hear what others think! It might inspire someone out there as well, only the Lord knows!

So I'll start with posting my recent studies and drawings I'd guess, and keep on from there! God Bless!

I'm currently working through Loomis "Fun with a Pencil", though as you will see I'm not only drawing from the book. My overall goal through this is just getting into drawing and making it more of a habit, as well as learning how to draw heads. I've decided to focus on the human body first, starting with the head and going down! (Also, some of the drawings are really bad and just overall sad to watch, but it's partly because I put different amount of effort into the drawings, and some are just doodles that I do to get away from the "hard work" for a while)

I've done a lot more than this since the last time I posted, but my lazyness is keeping me from uploading it all. Together with the fact that I'm usually not very happy with the outcome! But anyway, here is a unfinished work of a half naked dude screaming I drew when I really felt fired up lol.

Is this what you were working on yesterday? The lines look pretty clean, though I do like the sketchy look some of the rougher ones (like the back of the neck) have.
