Folks, it\'s been a crazy 6 months for most of you. First off, let me again apologize for letting this run so long overdue; it was never my intention to, but, I can\'t change the past so I can only apologize for it.
And before I make the official announcement, I would like to take a moment and thank:
1) Our super special guest judge,
MyrrhLynn, whose help in this massive undertaking cannot be over emphasized or appreciated.
2) The one and only
Cap\'n Nick who so graciously volunteered to do all the programming necessary for the voting pages and who made my life much, much, much easier.
3) The CAA staff for voting in the first rounds
And now, without further ado, I am pleased to announce the new CAA mascot is:
DDUK!
Congratulations! It was a tough call and each of our contestants definitely put a ton of time and work into their entries so I can\'t thank you all enough.
As the winner, DDuk\'s design will soon be featured in our Cafepress store, and with any other future advertisements/artwork, and will receive a $10 gift card to Amazon.com

Ack! Ash next time warn me you when you are going to make the post! X_X XD
For anyone who is curious the judging worked like this:
Round 1 - the whole CAA staff got a chance to vote and the top winners of this were put into round 2. This helped a lot because there were TONS of really good entries, and since the whole staff was voting we got a wide range of opinions (different ages, guy vs girl) all looking at them. This meant that we didn't get just one person influencing the final decision and we would end up with results that appealed to everyone. This was a really tough round though, and I personally aganized over which ones to vote on because there were SO many good entries it was difficult to pick just a few.
Round 2 - A smaller group of us looked at the winners from Round 1 and made the decision based on artistic-ness and some very business-y sounding criteria.
As one of the "secret" judges Ash asked me to remain neutral which meant I couldn't peak at the entries beforehand, so the first time I saw them was in round 1 (and I had no clue who drew what). Which is the main reason I've been missing a lot from CAA these past few months, I was avoiding the temptation to peak in the entries thread. XD
Anyway, that whole speech was to let all of you know that we tried to be as fair as possible throughtout this whole process. Sorry it took us so long to get you the results.
Oh and I would be very happy if Dduk could clear up exactly
what this entry is. It's true identity was a mystery to us judges.
It looks like a fox, but it has a cat tail, so we couldn't decide.

Wreck, your statement made it seem like you didn't put much stock in the other artists, except for DDUK. I think that's why she said that.

No problem at all! Thanks for yanking the idea out of my head and putting it down on paper! I'm better with a camera than a pencil. And it's no problem at all to use it as an avatar! Just make sure you keep posting in the "Avatar Caption Game" BTW, Will our new mascot be used anywhere on the forum?

We may possibly try to work him/her/it into the site design/navigation bar, but no promises. ^^
