CAA Katakana "ra-i-n" vs "ra-ya-n"

Huh. I was just looking at the katakana for Christain Anime Alliance, and started thinkin' about it.

The first two words look normal, but that last one looks odd to me.

Can someone tell me the difference between the kana アラインス and アラヤンス from a pronunciation standpoint?

Is this sorta the po-TAY-to vs Po-TAH-to question?

I obtained the text off an actual Japanese person, so I'm assuming that it is correct.
