Bug that has been driving me crazy for ages.

And I'm just getting around to pointing it out, I know.

I'm running IE 6, (so sue me, Firefox fans. ;) ) and *any* time I try to use the CTRL+F feature to search a page, IE locks up and I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL it down. This only ever happens to me on CAA...never on any other sites.

I remember someone else pointing this out quite a while back...I have no idea what the deal is though.

Ah, I would, but it's a family computer, so I'd have to get my entire clan's agreement on it, etc., etc.

So is there no way to fix this problem?

Well, nobody likes to get called a
ninny,
but I'm not offended.

Much.

But I already pointed out the reason why I can't just rush out and get Firefox. Maybe I should ask around, though, and see if I have enough votes around here to get it.

And Kaligraphic, you mentioned Windows Update... No, we're not current on our updates right now, so that might be the cause.

I guess I just foolishly assumed other people have this problem, too. If nobody does, though, then I guess there's only one logical conclusion.

Well, in theory you can have Firefox, Netscape, Opera and IE all running on the same computer without them interfering with each other. In fact, if your family only uses IE, then you don't have to worry about their bookmarks, etc getting in your way if you use a different browser.

That being said, I'm not certain why you would be having trouble. CAA does have some "alt-s" style overrides, but not the "ctrl-f" afaik. I'd suspect it's a security setting on IE, but I can't really troubleshoot that remotely.
