I've been wondering... Why is the limit for avatars 90x90 px, and not the usual 100x100? : o

I've wandered the same... Most avatars I find are 100x100 and don't turn out very good when resized...

i dont mind it being 90x90.
Shao, what I usually do and I like this effect better is if the picture is bigger than 90x90, i resize it abit to where it's about half till 90 x 90 and then I take the canvas size and set it to 90 x 90. You don't really get the entire picture but it offers some intrestig perspectives. Exactly what I did to my current avatar.

I asked the same thing when the limit kicked in, and Straylight just said that there are plenty of 90x90 or smaller avatars out there... <.< >.>

Although the size limit wouldn't effect me.... (my avatars real small) I think it would be nice for the sheer convienence.... after all, I can't have the same avatar forever XD...
*wonders when there will be an official responce*

I'm for a bigger avatar myself. (50KB and 100x100). I already stated
here on how to achieve this without putting more strain on the server/user.

I'm pretty sure that 50KB is more than enough. You want to capture the spirit of the scene in a gif and not a whole scene by itself anyway. Plus you could always reduce the number of frames, tone down the amount of colors, make the avatar a tad smaller etc.
