What are your fave fantasy series? Here are mine, in Alphabetical order

Other fantasy I'd be willing to name as favorite doesn't really qualify as series being single books...

Chronicles of Narnia, then Lord of the Rings, but Harry Potter is an alright read.
The Song of Albion series is very good also and the Earthsea books are good, but not great.

I voted Narnia and Lord of the Rings. I haven't read most of the others. I also loved Song of Albion and the Pendragon Cycle (both series by Stephen Lawhead), and I'm rereading the Firebringer trilogy by Meredith Ann Pierce (yay for unicorns!). Another really good series is the Belgariad by David Eddings.

Stephen Lawhead's series, Barbara Hambly's "Time of Dark" series, Dragonlance.

I've probably read other series I've enjoyed, but I've forgotten them.

The Chronicles of Prydain has always been underated and undervalued. It is one of my favourite series. I also sort-off liked the Sword of Truth series, but the adult content is off-putting.

Psh, it takes effort to make up 50 + characters and weird elf names, and i respect that...enough to barely enjoy the books.

For those who haven't read or heard of it Incarnations of Immortality consists of:
Riding A Pale Horse(Death)
Being A Green Mother(Mother Nature)
Wielding A Red Sword(War)
and several others.
In each one an ordinary man or woman finds him or herself faced with the responsibility of taking on one of the 7 Immortal Incarnations.Each has a different way of doing so.For example in Riding A Pale Horse the new Death takes over after
killing his successor.In Wielding A Red Sword the new War(Ares)gets the job for having the best martial qualifications.

I voted Potter, though I do like Chronicles of Narnia, LoTR, and Wheel of Time (though less and less as it goes on)

At least Jordan is finally ENDING the Wheel of Time. For a while I thought he would die before it was done. New characters every book, no conclusion of the storyline....at least it looks like it will be done at book 13.

Anything with Drizzt Do'Urden makes me salivate. R.A. Salvatore is basically incredible at writing fight scenes, as well as interesting characters and stories. I love The Icewind Dale Trilogy and the Dark Elf Trilogy so very, very much

Off topic (semi-rant):

I've read Incarnations of Immortality. I could sort of handle the unnecessary sexuality in the books and the bad religion, until I got to the final book, dealing with the incarnation of Good: God. This book upset me very much, especially as a Christian, as God is removed from His position and replaced in the book, since the other incarnations felt that He was aloof and not doing His job, nor doing anything to counter the evil actions of Satan.

After taking a good look at the rest of Anthony's books, I decided that I couldn't with good conscience read his stuff any more. They have some good points, like their humor (Xanth) and interresting plots, but there was so much sex and bad religion among other things that I just couldn't read them any more.

Sorry if I sound narrow minded, but that's my choice. I won't condemn anyone who does read them, but I would suggest taking a serious evaluation of the books.

Those are my top five. So much Fantasy to read and so little time to do it!

I like Terry Brooks' books (type that ten times fast), Lawhead's series are good (although I always end up being too crital of them in the end), and then of course the Tolkien books, and not forgetting C.S. Lewis in the mix.

Christian fantasy is somewhat lacking (ok, very lacking), but Miles Owens may be a good author to watch out for. His Daughter of Prophecy was pretty good.

And last, but not least, I'm still in love with the Redwall series by Brian Jacques.

I voted for Chronicles of Narnia and Lord of the Rings. While I love Harry Potter, it's not my favorite, so I couldn't bring myself to vote for it.

Forgotten Realms and Sword of Truth series' have always been a faverite read of mine
(SoT has been an on/off eries for awhile though)
