Dragonriders of Pern

Has anyone read these? If not, I suggest you do. They are GREAT books. They have cursing, but it's more of slang, and not really cursing, i.e. their words are like 'shards, shells' due to the fact of dragon eggs and such. Not actually curse words here. Now, the pre-quels to the series DO have cursing, and they ARE our words. Alright...that wasn't all that understandable. I suggest you read Dragonflight, Dragonquest, and The White Dragon BEFORE you read any of the others. The books also have references to pre-marital sex...sometimes, they can't help it, but I won't reveal the plot.

It's been a few years since I read any of them, but from what I remember I liked the ones I read pretty well, plus I really like dragons so....^_^

We used to have a few copies of The White Dragon somewhere. I have read, lets see, The White Dragon (duh), Dragonsdawn, Dragonsflight, Dragonsquest, The Dolphins of Pern, Dragonsong, and I think that is it.

I don't care for Anne McCafferty's other Sci-fi books however. Pegasus in Space wasn't bad, I liked that one.

Yeah, I've read a couple of the Pern books. I had some issues with some of the stuff in it, but it wasn't graphic, and mostly was implied. Most of it goes over my head anyway, though. ^^ I've never had any desire to read any of her other books. Especially the 'Acorna' books. ^^
Love wins.

I LOVE the Dragonriders of Pern! It is one of my favorite book series. Some of the subject matter can be a bit iffy, but for the most part it is really good.

Also, what ISN'T there to like about those dragons? ;)

I've read Dragondawn, but that's it. I'll have to read those.

I love the Harper Hall Trilogy myself. I've read that trilogy, the Dragon Riders of Pern trilogy, the renegades of Pern, the Skies of Pern, the Dragon Lover's guide to Pern, the Master Harper of Pern, and some others I think, but I don't remember.

I love love LOVE Dragonriders of Pern!! It's actually been awhile since I read any of them but I still love them. *grin* The only ones I haven't read are The Skies of Pern, All the Weyrs of Pern, and the Dolphins of Pern. My faves were the Harper Hall trilogy. Music! Gotta love music! n.n
