I need to make a scuplture and i decided on a bat (the animal). However, I checked all the resources I know of and came up with no decent picture to go off of. I need a full body picture of one with good visability on detail. Thank you all SOOO much!

I do believe I can be of service! :thumb: I was considering doing a bat sculpture myself, not so long ago, and so I collected a bunch of images. I'm surprised you didn't find any; did you try a Google Images search? There are so many different kinds of bats, and some of them are extremely cute! Especially the flying foxes. Anyway, here are a few images

And a few more... the last one's just fun. Do we get to see your sculpture when it's done?

Wow! Thanks so much! Well, if you can stand seeing a disfigured bat sculpture I can try to post it. Sculpting may be my strongest artistic ability but i'm still terrible at it. (And please don't say other wise. I use negativism to make me try harder.)

Okay, I won't argue with you, but I haven't seen your sculptures either. We are our own worst critics, but we can also be our own best motivators. And honestly... I thought I was a fairly decent artist when I was 15, but now I look back on the stuff I did in high school and I choke with embarassment. All that to say -- keep at it, be dedicated if it's what you want to do, and you will improve greatly!

Thanks for the encouraging words! The sculpture isn't going to come out as I would like it to. My art teacher says to make it my idea but then he tells me to go and change some stuff. I suppose I can't argue with him *cough* much *cough* since he knows best in this subject. Oh well. Once I get it finished i'll borrow someones camera to snap a picture.

Yeah... sometimes art teachers are funny that way. They have a tricky job, because art is so personal and subjective, yet they are presumably there to teach you something, so they feel they have to help you improve somehow. I guess.

*doesn't ever want to be an art teacher*
