*hopes this is the right section to post in*
anyway, i'm writing an essay now in microsoft word & it needs to be a 1000 words.
is there any way of seeing how many words you have written? my teacher said there was and if anyone can help me out it'd be great.

Yes there is a function under Microsoft Word where you can get a words count it is under the Tools menu and you would find word count.

ok go to the tools menu and theres a word count option in there, if you neet to count only a certain part, highlight it then do the same and it'll count the selected section only, it does stull like no. of chars etc. as well

I use that function all the time when I'm writing in Word. The quickest way to access it is to press Alt then T then W. Don't hold them, just one after the other.
