"Chibi" refers to "little" or "small"....usually used in conjunction with something such as Super Deformed characters, it is used to denote not only miniature stature, but also a certain "cuteness".


:)



Example: "Chibi-Moon is so kawaii!!"


Meaning "Little-Moon (not even gonna try to pretend I know how she and Sailor Moon are connected) is so cute!"

LOL! :lol: I had to post a response to that; I found it so funny!

Otherwise, I haven't got anything more to add to what KojiroMusashi said in the first reply. I'm not expert but it seemed like a good description to me.

Psssht! A cute phonebooth! *covers face in an attempt to stop laughing*

The only point I could make is that the Chibi style is often used to convery humour in Anime and manga. Often you'll see a character drawn in the super deformed Chibi style (I think its typically something like their heads drawn 1/2 or 1/3 the size of their total height) in the context of an amusing situation. It can add to the funny. :thumbsup:

or it could just mean a younger version of ....
such as those babies in the goof off forums
they are chibi-sasuke and chibi-naruto simply because of how young they are
(although they also happen to be small and cute)

Chibi literally means "runt", but can be used when meaning little or younger.
"Kawaii" is cute. You people should know that, the way everyone seems to overuse it. XP
