The Doctor sighed. He'd managed to pick up another stowaway, but he didn't mind. It was better than travelling alone. But this one, he wasn't sure about. She kept to herself a lot and he could tell she was still upset about losing her parents to the Cybermen.
He patted the console of his TARDIS. "Well, sexy thing, where are we going now?"
Lydia leaned against the console. She watched the Doctor with a raised eyebrow. "You talk to this thing?"
"It's not a thing! She's got a lot of personality, now. Do I call you a thing?" he objected.
It's still strange. Lydia thought.
"I guess that's just something I'm going to have to get used to now." Lydia sighed. "So, have we landed?"
"Yes. If you can call it that. Want to have a look around?"

"Maria. I'm leaving now," Sarah said smiling at her co-worker. "Alright young lady. Now you be careful. A pretty young girl like you walking down the streets at night... It gives me shivers just thinking about it," Maria said with a smile. "It's alright Maria. I can take care of myself," Sarah said with a smile walking outside. She walked down the street towards her apartment which was a few blocks away. "Young girl. Ha! I'm not a young girl," she said with a smile.

Lydia nodded. "Sure, doc. Let's go on our first adventure."
The Doctor rolled his eyes. "I'm not 'doc'" he said.
They walked out together.
"Well would you look at that flag. I think we're in Australia." The doctor said as he got his bearings.

Sarah walked down the street and was humming a song when she saw two figures up ahead. She looked closer and saw a strange but handsome man with a teenage girl. They were looking at the Australian flag which made her think that they weren't from around there. She walked up to them and smiled. "Hello, I just saw you looking at our flag here. Are you from around here," she asked them.

The Doctor took out his Psychic Paper and said "I'm the Doctor. And this is Lydia."
He noticed the streets were barren except for the three of them.
Lydia noticed it too. "Hey, if this is Sydney, a major city, why are there so few people around?"
OOC: Sarah, read my PM before you post.

Sarah looked around. "Well. There are these things. People call them the Vashta Nerada.
They are eating all of the civilians. Barley anyone is left as you can tell. The place that I work just closed down today because we don't have any customers," she said.

"What are the Vashta Nerada?" Lydia asked.
"Trust me, you're better off not being near them. They're living shadows." The Doctor explained. "Must be why we're here."
"I have some...expertise in dealing with them. Can you take me to where they seem to hang out the most?" the Doctor asked.

Sarah hesitated but nodded. "We have to be careful though," she said walking down the street. She led them a few blocks away to a huge building. "They tend to like it here. Its like their main base or something. No one knows why," she explained.

OOC: sarah, could you pm ally-ann and adritan for me?
They came up on the door and the doctor found it locked.
"That's no problem." said the Doctor as he took out his sonic screwdriver and pointed it at the lock. The mechanism immediately opened.

OOC: Sure thing, What do you want me to tell them???

Sarah looked at the thing in the Doctor's hand. "What in the world is that thing," she asked mostly to her self. She shrugged and smiled. "Lets move on. They are really good at catching people so, lets not get caught okay," she said.

OOC: Just tell them they need to make new characters. We'll still use River Song, just not right now.
As they walked inside, they noticed it was empty. Suddenly, a shadow loomed up behind Sarah. Lydia immediately armed her arm gun and fired at the shadow, causing it to dissipate.

Darienne didn't understand. Living shadows? Living DEVOURING shadows?
"I'm sorry, what? I can't leave Australia because why?"
"So sorry miss, but your plane shouldn't have even landed here. It's too dangerous in Australia. And you can't leave because you'll end up taking the little buggers with you. You are free to wander around our country. Doesn't matter where you go these buggers will find you eventually anyhow."
Darienne looked at the weary Australian. He was sincere and sad.
"Well, there must be someway we can be rid of them," she said determined.

OOC: Is Darlene in a different area of Sydney or close to us?
The Doctor said with a raised eyebrow "Well that's new. Didn't know you could do that to a Vashta."

OCC: You mean Darienne? You said you were in Sydney, right? Yeah she's in Sydney.
