The Esper Children OOC thread

Here's an OOC thread for The Esper Project. It will tell you some of the stuff that is common in the year 2301:
-->Computer keyboards are a thing of the past. Computers now have holographic monitors and touch-sensitive surfaces that work like a keyboard.
-->UD-CD's and UD-DVD's have replaced CD's and DVD's. These have 100times the capacity of CD's and DVD's. Plus, they're about the size of a Gamecube disk. The UD stands for Ultra-Density. They cannot be scratched!
-->Acid rain falls from the skies. If the pH level is below 2.9, citizens are ordered to stay indoors.
-->There are new cars called Spinners. These hover above the ground. They are not gas-powered.
-->You can also get around on hoverboards. Remember, they don't work on water "unless you got power!". So, make sure you have one of those Pit Bull motors.
-->Slamball is the new cool sport. It's basically zero-G Hockey.
-->Print media is non-existant. Everything is on UD-CD or UD-DVD.
-->The media is oppressed. So is religion.

Corrections

EDIT: Note, some of these things are actually a bit off scientifically, I'm going to correct them just for the sake of avoid false ideas but you can change it if you want RockLobster.

1. 10 times as powerful is actually too weak of a growth for the passing of nearly 300 years. The DVD is actually an advanced successor to the CD, its 10 times as powerful, and such is required to really make an impact on the market. The higher the frequency, the more data can be stored, thus blu-ray. At the same time, the highest tech I know for this from Ray Kurzweil's The Singularity is Near IS holographic tech. Seeing as this society has rather advanced holographic monitors, that means that they can implement the same tech in their storage devices. At the same time, we can use Moores law to "predict" the storage capacity for this time period. Computer Storage Capacity generally doubles every three years, just like the other components, power-wise. That means that if DVD's (The standard today) can store 7 Gigs, by 2301, the standard storage capacity should be on the order of:

storage capacity = 7 Gigs * 2 ^ ((2301 - 2008) / 3) = 1.76 * 10 ^ 30 Gigs (10^30 is 1 followed by 30 zeros O_O), actually the term Giga wouldn't be used... we lack an SI Prefix at the current time to describe this number and in fact I doubt they would be using bytes at all, as it stands, this form of storage device would hold over 10^29 DVDs. Information in this form of environment is something entirely different than it means to us, more of a medium then a discreet quantity by any means. Physics will limit Moors Law somewhat in the future, but so far its remained right on track in a rather nice manner.

2. Water has a Ph of 7 X_x. You have the pH scale reversed, higher then 7=basic, lower then 7 = acidic, and for that matter, a pH of 4.9 is hardly acidic. Its a logarithmic scale, and soda has a pH of between 2.9-4.0. So 4.9 isn't really acidic at all, its actually very similar to water in many ways (It wouldn't hurt you, its about the acidity of coffee). I did a research assignment with Tabasco and found that it had a pH level of about 2.3-2.5 or something like that (more acidic then soda). But even this stuff won't immediately eat your flesh. I'm thinking that really bad acid rain would have a pH of about one point something (Not 1.5 though because that's about the acidity of stomach acid O_o). Battery acid is actually a little negative, and I've had the joy and honor of working with Triflic acid... 1000 times stronger then sulfuric acid YAY! (It was for an NMR experiment)

Thanks for clearing that up. How about u help with me the scientific advancements and inconveniences?
BTW, did you recognize where I got the Spinners from? I'll give you a hint: It's a movie starring Harrison Ford and it has nothing to do with Star Wars. If you can't guess, read the spoiler box:
Blade Runner!
Does that sonic gun only work on psychics? I'd like to know a little more about it.

According to Pascal's PM that he sent to me, it'll only work on children, so yes, it works on the psychics.

Sorry to make this look like a double post, but I might make a book out of this RPG. Please post below if I can use your characters.

Oh, sure. Do whatever you like. You'd probably do better with my character than I am anyway...

Sure ^^

You'd have to change Zander's last name though

Sure, of course you can, although I may use the name Mortalis elsewhere in my own writings, but I can't say for certain. But yeah, sure you can use my character!

My character is free for you to use.

Okay, tonight the security drones are unleashed. Here's what they are like.
They look very similar to ROB. They have telescopic arms that can wrap around you. When they do, they deliver electrical shocks that knock you right out. They also have machine-gun turrets. But you guys should have no trouble with those. Just do like Neo in The Matrix and stop those bullets in mid-flight. You can short circuit them with your psychic storms if you have that ability (remember, only rank 4 and above can do the psychic storm.)
Now one more thing, I will be controlling the drones (and possibly, so will Lil Ninja). This doesn't mean I get to decide when they are destroyed. You will have to tell me if you destroyed the drone or short-circuited. Otherwise, I will assume it is still functioning.
That is all.
