Greetings -- my name is Bob, and I enjoy watching anime. (*Hi Bob!*)

I've been in the military 19 years, and am currently stationed in Seoul, Korea. My family (wife, three children - 18, 14, 12) live in North Carolina. All of them are anime fans to one degree or another.

Professionally, I work in the IM/IT field. I'm currently responsible for all Army medical networks and telecommunications on the Korean peninsula. My specialty is "Medical Informatics"; I study decision-making processes in medical organizations and try to improve them through better user interface design, appropriate data capture devices, and so on.

I've been a Christian since my Sophomore year in College. My favorite Christian authors are C.S. Lewis and Oswald Chambers. I'm currently reading "The Cost of Discipleship" by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. I listen to all manner of Christian (and a fair amount of non-Christian) music; I've been a Rich Mullins fan since the late '80s; other artists I've listened to recently include Andrew Peterson and Sara Groves.

My main hobby is boardgaming; I enjoy learning, playing, and reviewing games, attend one or two game conventions a year (usually World Boardgaming Championships, Prezcon, or Origins), and am in the process of designing my first game.

I've been watching anime for almost five years. My favorite series tend to be some of the stranger or deeper ones (Haibane Renmei, SE: Lain, Boogiepop Phantom), although I've enjoyed titles like Marmalade Boy and Azumanga Daioh.

I'm glad to have found Christian Anime Alliance, and look forward to exchanging views and reviews with all of you.

Wow. Sounds like you found a perfect fit here. There's quite a few computer geeks here too (I'm in IT, and I know at least 2 others here are too, to some degree or another). Feel free to poke around and let us know what you think!

Oh yeah...

Welcome to the Nuthouse!

AngelSakura: Hiya! I'm AngelSakura, and this is my fiancee, Nicholas D. Wolfwood.
Nick-chan: Hey. *lights cigarette*
AngelSakura: *coughs* Put that out! You're gonna give us all lung cancer!
Nick-chan: *takes a quick drag on cigarette and puts it out* Sorry.

Welcome, and glad to have you, ClosetOtaku! It is always great to have another Haibane Renmei lover on this site. There are a few of us, and we are all pretty darn avid about it. I just recently picked up the first Serial Expiraments Lain DVD, loved it, and am looking around for the next few, hoping for a reasonably low price. Board games are great also, but I'm much more casual about it than you.

See ya around the forums!
