Hello.

If you're new to CAA, we invite you to tell us about yourself here. This is the place to post your own bio or read up on other members. Be as in depth as you like!

Hello.

Postby Omega Amen » Sat Jan 31, 2004 10:25 am

Hello.

This is the first time I have ever joined a forum. So I am still learning the tools available on this website.

I find it encouraging that there is a Christian website that has active and courteous members who share an interest in anime. I am a pretty casual and relatively new anime viewer, but I have been Christian (and a gamer) for several years.

Well, as a graduating computer engineering student, I am pretty busy and I have to get back to work. However, I will check back in here often.

Note to the admins/mods: When I first watched anime, I was struck by its power to express emotions and ideas. Therefore, I understand your dedication in using it to help express the message of Christ. I really appreciate what you are doing here, and I pray that you succeed.

Later....
Find me on Steam, PlayStation Network (OmegaAmen), Backloggery, Twitter, and Twitch.tv

I am also in the Christian gaming group, Tribe of Judah in the Christian Gamers Alliance.

Glad to have you with, Omega Amen, very glad indeed. Welcome aboard.

Also, yes, you are our 1000th member, though I'm certain that's not the only important thing about you. I find it very fitting that your username features the word "amen" at this time. I'll be looking forward to getting to know you.

*waves* 'Ello there and hope you have a grand time here. *nod nod* I was getting very discouraged about liking anime the way I do before I found out about CAA ages ago. One of the things that really bothered me was when I tried to explain what it was exactly 0.o but now when my relatives asks about it I always seem to bring CAA up and they take a differant point of view to it :thumb: Besides, whats better then knowing you already have pretty much two major instrests in common with other people? Heh, getting a bit off track, just wanted to try and give ya a warm welcome. Don't mind me, just a llama taco talking.
"Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
and things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art; to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul."

When you find yourself in the company of a halfling and an ill-tempered
Dragon, remember, you do not have to outrun the Dragon...
...you just have to outrun the halfling.

Hello again.

I just came back from hours of work with futile results... typical life of an engineer.

I am posting here again to address a question that arose in this thread and a certain... event that I apparently have triggered when I registered here.

inkjet1987: Sometime in the near future, I will post some bio info. on the Who's Who section. The answer to your question will be found in that post.

uc pseudonym: Thanks. The "Amen" was actually a recent change I made to my online pseudonym to reflect the... growth I went through the past few years. As for the celebrated number issue, I will address that in the appropriate thread made by... huh... inkjet1987.

blueraven: Yes, it was a pleasant surprise when I looked over this site. Also, I am pretty sure llama tacos have something worth to say if they made it into this forum.

To everyone else who has posted or will (maybe?) post their welcomes: Thank you. I appreciate your hospitality.

Welcome Omega. I too am a loner. Guess that's really why I stumbled on to these forums, because I don't really have any Christian friends to speak of. But I digress...
I too, see the power and depth of emotion the anime can capture, as well as retaining the ability to tell fantastic and unique stories. I don't know if I could really be of much help to make God-honoring anime a reality, but I will do what I can, and pray when I can.
Looking forward to seeing you on the forums.

Welcome to the Nuthouse! We're all a litte odd here - owing partly to the fact that anime is not as "mainstream" as some other forms of commincation. Not to mention the whole "Pilgrims and aliens" stigma.

On a personal note: there are lots of us computer geeks here (goes with the anime territory, I guess) so feel free to visit our "Computer" forums and participate!

Hi and welcome, Omega! ^_^

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.
