Bonjour! I just recently joined the CAA and I'm very excited. Now, a little bit about myself...

I'm a high school junior with a GPA of 4.0. I live in Kentucky, and am almost completely fluent in French. I have been watching anime since I was two years old (Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics was my first title). I've been a Christian since I was nine, but was only baptized last year. I'm a generally nice, upbeat, maternal person who likes to elaborate about everything. I hope I get to befriend some of you!

Favorite Anime: Pita-Ten (Magic Knight Rayearth a close second)
Favorite Manga: Marmalade Boy
Favorite Anime/Manga genre: shoujo, of course!
Favorite Band: Maroon Five
Favorite Singer: (female) (tie) Ashanti, Vanessa Carlton (male) John Mayer
Favorite Author: Agatha Christie, Danielle Steel
Favorite Book of the Bible: Proverbs

Heya! Welcome to the CAA ^_^

That's very cool that your bilingual. I spent six years in french immersion and I used to be pretty fluent in french. *sighs* But now I can only understand it and speak what I like to refer to as caveman french. Outta curiousity, does your user name translate to 'little sister'? (mayhaps I haven't totally lost it..)

^ I hope that message did not scare any one. I recognize that it might be rude to speak another language in front of those who don't understand and so, can't donate their own thought into conversation, so I will try to make this the only post where I speak like this this much in public.

I actually understood about 94% of that! Yeah-hah! Still somewhat bilingual! Now actually translating would be another matter, I just sorta get it, it's weird..Eh well.

Yo nunca tengo ningún problema con hablar otro idioma que otras personas no pueden entender. ;) Aúnque si yo lo hubiera oído (lo que dijiste), esperadamente yo habría entendido poquito.

I am offended.

What I got in Babelfish was: "I never have no problem with speaking another language that other people cannot understand. Aúnque if I had heard it (what you said), awaitedly I I would have understood poquito."

...but I don't know what a poquito is.

I shall speak English. Because it is the only language I can speak fluently. ("Taco" and "guacomole" alas do not count.)
In any case, welcome to the boards! Enjoy all the wacky weird people! Bon appetit! (arrrrrrg)

Hee hee.

It got pretty close: "I never have any problem with speaking another language other people can't understand. Although, if I had heard it (what you said), hopefully I would have understood a little bit." i.e., sometimes I understand things better spoken than written.

That's interesting shooraijin, I'm kinda the opposite, I have to read things to translate them well. When people are talking away in another in another language, I tend to get lost and confused very easily. Whereas words move nice and slooowly.
