:) Here is my bio

I am probably the oldest person here=29 *heavy sigh*
I have an older brother and an older half-sister
My father was an ordained Baptist Minister until he changed denominations. Now he is ordained under Kenneth Hagin of Rhema Bible Institute
I am from Florida but was called by God to move to Virginia (not an easy transition).
Former smoker ...now sruggling with bad eating habits *munches on another doughnut/wonders why she's been gaining so much weight lately*
Occupation=waitress, but am seeking God for a direction concerning a career change.

Not a master of anything, but here are some interests/likes in no particular order:
Martial Arts (took ITF style TaeKwonDo for 2 and a half yrs) and would love to get involved with a more fluid style--like Tai Chi--someday.
Kung Fu movies...I love the Wu TAng, Shaolin stuff, the vintage Jackie Chan and Kung Fu Theatre....but also enjoy the better ones like "Crouching Tiger" and "Iron Monkey"..etc.
Anthropology/Linguistics--I can't hold an intelligent conversation on these topics but am more in the fascinated-curiosity stage. I am very interested in ancient cultures and languages.
Anime-don't have any right now, but plan on starting a collection as soon as I can afford.(Gundam Wing, Kodocha, Kenshin, and Ghost in the Shell are just a few I've seen and liked)
Cheesy shareware/freeware games 'cause I'm poor and can't afford to buy anything good atm, *2d platform! Yay!*
Cooking--experimental and international/ethnic cuisine.
Bright shiny buttons that make 'beep-beep' noises when pressed.
Sushi
Dogs and other fluffy things...
hmmm...Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams.
My church.
Chocolate
Opera/theatrical plays
trying out stuff that isn't Microsoft. Not as computer savvy as some of you , so it's a step for me. Currently using Opera, which I kinda like. But haven't tried anything other than Windows as far as OS goes(Linux frightens me..I heard it was hard to use unless you're a real PC wiz., not sure about the others like Mac and Solaris[?]).
My dream is to someday work with or own a Christian Anime/gaming company...to create/promote anime and games that glorify our Lord without being corny or patronizing and use them as a means to witness to the lost, to empower the believer with a better understanding of the power he/she has in Christ Jesus, and to entertain the masses. Honestly, what I really want to do is be a VA (which is really more suitable to my personality and general make-up) for such a company. Either way, I have a long way to go both spiritually and in general before I am ready to take on anything near to what I envision. But I know that God is faithful to complete the work he's begun and if it's His will then it'll come to pass in His perfect timing. If not, then I am open to his divine Will and destiny for my life.
Also, I am very interested in missionary work and would like to be involved in that someday.
And that should be enough for now :)

Again, my theory still stands, it seems that most people here on this board does somekind of martial arts, and likes historical stuff, and thats awesome.

>My dream is to someday work with or own a Christian Anime/gaming company...

That would be awesome, I'd love that too. If you ever get one going, hire me!

Anyways, nice to know ya!

Oh yeah, VA rocks!

Hey, doozo yoroshiku! And why be ashamed of nearing 30? That applies to a great many of us, and you aren't the oldest here, anyhow ;)

Languages, of course, are a big deal to me, since my undergraduate degree was in general linguistics. My current plan is to practise medicine for a few years, pay off all my debts, put some money in the bank, and then go back to school again and get my Ph.D. Looking at my old syntax and grammar theory texts makes me wistful. I really miss it, and maybe I'll go off into the jungle with Wycliffe after all (almost did, but God said medical school first).

In response to Matthew:

^_~ Sure thing!! Ya know, at the risk of sounding corny--I believe that everything happens for a reason or purpose, especially for those of us who are led of God and called according to his purpose. I don't think it's happenstance that we're all here *hope this isn't too cheesy*...just food for thought.
Besides, is anything too hard for the Lord?^_^ Maybe someday he'll open a door..if not for me, then maybe for one of you. Then you'll have to let me work for you *heh*

Hi Rashiir! ~Now who could be older than me?? Confession, I have this fear: Did you ever go rollerskating as a child? Well, when I was much younger..say between 8-12, I used to go to the skating rink on the weekends..and there was always at least one guy there (no matter what rink I went to), who was at least twice everybody else's age and looked like a throwback from the 70's (ala Disco Fever). He seemed so out of place and outdated...great skater tho. *and no offence to anyone here who might be into Disco/rollerskating* But the image kinda stuck with me...I don't want to resemble that guy in anime-fandom.... I know. I'm strange. I have issues.... *mumbles 'ncoherently*

Great bio! Very interesting. And I'm only 2 years behind ya... there are plenty of us in the same age category. :)

I, too, am trying to escape the evil that is Microsoft... I just happily switched to a Mac.

And I'm taking martial arts. The shito ryu style.

And I like sushi... and chocolate! We've got lots in common!

Oh, and I like games too... and anime. There.

Most of my friends back in Fl. were computer techs/programmers so even I have had certain things beaten into me from day1. AOL is evil. Microsoft is too. One day I will have a Mac or something non-Microsoft related, however this my 1st computer and it was completely free *result of much prayer* so I am very happy with it^^
