Prolog: This setup look a little familiar? Probably, as I shamelessly ripped it off from the one and only Omega Amen. I haven't been a member very long, but I decided I should finally put a post up here. Hope it proves to be interesting...ask me questions, please!
-Nick

Misc: I'm homeschooled.

Identity

Name: Nick

Siblings: I'm the younger of two kids, (I have an 18 year old sister who refuses to get a CAA membership. Argh!)

Home: Missouri

Height: 5' 10''

Weight: Around 140 lbs.

Hair Color: It's not red, blast it! I call it auburn... It's slowly (sloooowly) turning to brown--maybe I'll be normal in a few years or so. ;)

Hair Style: My hair curls a bit naturally, so I can't really do anything with it except the most generic of generic styles.

Eye Color: Brown

Favorite Color: Blue. Come on! It's the best. Think about it...the water, the sky...

Lineage: German, Scottish, Irish, and English. A real mix, can't you tell?

Build: Although I don't like to admit it, I'm on the skinny side... I need to bulk up, but no matter how much I eat I never gain a pound!

Online Identity

Username: Godly Paladin. Why? I love the term 'Paladin'...for me, at least, it has a sense of wonder and mystery. Plus a tainting of the medieval, which is always good. The 'Godly' adjective seemed to fit for a Christian site.

Bit-O-History: Godly Paladin is a warrior for the Lord, always trying to fight his best for his master, but often failing. Only by the grace of God is he lifted back up from the depths.

Custom User Title: Soldier of the Army. As in the army. The Army of the One, as I like to call it.

Avatar: Courtesy of Lehn, it's a pic of a silohuetted Van from Escaflowne. Never seen the anime, but I like the shades of blue. (And the katana!)

Signature:
"They do not fail who die for a great cause." -Byron
"They that know God will be humble; they that know themselves cannot be proud." -Flavel

Those two quotes that really struck me when I saw them, so...here they are. Then comes a link to my blog and a desperate request for more people to use the Live Chat. After that a pic from the Anime-to-end-all-Anime, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. (And, of course, acknowledgement for the crafter of sigs, Sam*ron.)

Personality

Strengths: Rather hard to say without coming across as egotistical, but I think that I do rather well in the fields of...uh...I'll let you be the judge.

Weaknesses: Honesty, emotional fortitude (I'm either extremely happy or bummed out), a short temper, and self control.

What annoys me: Posts on forums full of typos, grammatical errors, and/or excessive 'chattese'.

Other notes: I believe I have a rather good memory/ability to memorize things, and I have a distinct aversion eating cross-contaminated food ;).

Beliefs

Religion: Reformed Presbyterian/Calvinist

Political: Conservative Republican.

Heroes: My parents are the big ones.

Regrets: Sometimes I feel like I'm wasting a bunch of my time, and I don't think that I've worked hard enough in school in past years.

Hobbies: Crafting fantasy worlds, writing novels, playing and designing games,

Sports: Soccer, Ping Pong, Ice skating...

Most Memorable Video Game: The one game that I have the most memories of is an old DOS game called Captain Bible. I played that for countless hours when I was 6-12 years old.

Most Memorable Quote: Don't really have one... Let me think about it a bit, then I'll put it up.

Most Memorable Moment: Probably winning first place at a math competition a few years ago.

Most Memorable Book: I suppose the book I'm writing now doesn't count... (It's at 100,000 words and 250 pages, by the way.) Other than the Bible? Then it has to be the Lord of the Rings. (The Trilogy, the Hobbit, the Silmarillion, and all 5 of the Book of Lost Tales series.)

what's your favorite food? You live in tornado alley? ever been in a tornado?
what's a blog?

I used to be terrified of 'em until I got it through my thick skull that God would protect me.

Pizza or fried chicken, I guess. Never an actual tornado, but a dozen warnings or so. A blog is an online journal, check out my sig if you'd like to read it.

Link is cool, isn't he? (Especially in the new game coming out.) Yeah, the Zelda games are excellent, but I'm afraid I'm more of a classic gamer... Not exactly the trend. What are your faves?

Dude! It's called manic depression, and I have it too! You get happy or depressed for absolutely no reason whatsoever! Your life is like an emotional roller coaster! Trust me, I know.

Godly Paladin wrote:Posts on forums full of typos, grammatical errors, and/or excessive 'chattese'.
Don't worry, I write in clear, concise sentences free of typos. Well, most of the time.

Kristal*Klear wrote:Well, i have played almost all the games that you can think of for the old world NES!

Oh yeah? Ever heard of "Arkista's Ring?"

Other than that, I can't really think of many questions besides the goofy ones. Well, one serious one. When did you get saved? Have you ever been baptized?

Do you hate McDonald's as much as I do?

If you were on a desert island, what three things could you not live without? Oh, and since the last two people I asked this to took the easy way out, I will say that you have ample food and water, and a makeshift shelter.

Finally, how do you like your steak cooked?

That's all I'll subject you to for now.

I was saved when I was 6 years old, but no, I have never been baptized. Put that under 'regrets', probably. My parents don't think little kids should be baptized until they can truly understand, and I suppose I've always been a little embarassed about being baptized at 15. (or whatever.)

McDonald's is disgusting. ;)

A Bible, a full computer rig with high speed internet ;), and a private jet. ;)

Medium rare. Not so rare that I can pretend I'm a savage eating raw meat , and not so well done that I can pretend it's a manhole.

"One and only." Hmmm....

Well, you are not the only one to use this tactic. kaji did the same thing in his Who's Who thread.

I have no problem with you using this setup. The fact is that my format is really the compilation of several other CAA members' Who's Who setups.

Since I am posting here, I feel the need to ask you a question.
Godly Paladin wrote:I have a distinct aversion eating cross-contaminated food ]Can explain, elaborate, and give an example on what you mean in this statement? I am particularly curious about your classification of "cross-contaminated food."

One more thing:
Godly Paladin wrote:winning first place at a math competition a few years ago.
Good. I hope you have kept your math skills up.

Ooh, I've got a good one now!

Okay, for whatever reason, God Himself comes down to you and says you can't buy any more anime, or music or video games. You also have to get rid of all your anime, music CDs and video games you have now. But, God's a nice Guy, and He'll let you keep ONE anime series, ONE video game, and THREE music CDs.

What would you pick, and why?

I'm sorry that I disappeared for so long... My subscription service apparently wasn't working. *coughs significantly*

About the cross contamination...it takes multiple forms.

1)I don't like multiple food types on a plate running together.

2)I don't eat food that has come in contact with the ground, etc.

3)I don't eat food that has entered other people's mouths or has come into contact with other people's eating utensils. Nothing is more disgusting than seeing people 'finish off' other people's food.

About the math...no, I haven't kept it up. I can't solve problems anymore that I could have two years ago with ease. Sad, isn't it? I still like math and I think I'm 'good' at it, but not at the same level.

Anime Series: Gundam Wing
Video Game: Sheesh... Uh... I dunno. Probably my 3D Gamestudio game engine. But that isn't a game, technically. I'm gonna have to dodge this one like Kerry.
Music CDs: The Lord of the Rings soundtracks.

wow you've actually read the Books of Lost Tales? *impressed*

It was decent...definitely a hard read. But it has an aura I love that none of the other Tolkien books comes close to, although the Silmarillion does a good job.

Hey, look what I found! No wonder you were asking why I hadn't been on for so long.

I like this bio a lot. Really, I do. I think I may go back and add to mine, since it was a little pathetic to begin with.

Questions:
- Who is your favorite LOTR character and why?
- What is your definition of a hero? What specifically makes a hero?
- Describe what you picture your life as after 60-65. (artistic lisence given...)

:thumb:

Random fact: I have reddish hair also, that isn't all the way red anymore.
