In the new Snapple commercial, (you know the one with 'this is new zero calorie stuff-but same stuff') American Voice Actor Tara Platt is a main role (a part two for the commercial is in the works). This is the voice of Temari (naruto) and wife of Yuri Lowenthal (voice of sasuke (naruto) and suzaku (code geass).
Caught this myself and double checked on Tara's facebook.
there's my otaku moment.

Haha, that's cool ^__^ I love picking out familiar voices in anime and actual shows ^__^ Do you have a link to this commercial ^__^?
I remember once, I could have sworn i heard Michelle Ruff's voice on Smallville O__O I was like,"Wait, I recognize that voice O__O" It was one of those moments where you hear their voice, but they don't come on screen 8(

If she is Yuri Lowenthal's wife why is her name not Tara Lowenthal does the sacrament of marriage mean nothing to these people?

That's pretty cool, I want to see that now. Tara Platt is pretty good, I've only seen her in a couple roles though.

This comment made my morning.
I just heard these two recently on rightstuf's podcast. I like 'em. Good for her!

And yea, it shall be that the son shall leave his mother and father and join with his wife. And they shall become one arbitrary name.
Personally, I think it should go one step further. Husband and wife should literally mind meld and talk all creepy like those twins from The Shining. In unison.
So but seriously... A lot of these guys if you check out their IMDBs you can see their appearances in TV shows, but not commercials. I can't think of any instances off hand in commercials (other than one I'll go into in a second) with voice actors. I could swear I've heard them before, but it escapes my mind.
Except for that WoW commercial with Vic "Sounds like like Ed" McMignona. ... Has anyone seen that one on TV before? I could swear he just made that one himself.

I'd always figured. My line of thought was primarily "Who the heck is gonna know who that guy is outside of the very limited anime circles?"

I didn't know Tara Platt was married to Yuri Lowenthal! O__o Wow... She's also Raine Sage in Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, that's what I credit her for.
Maybe she doesn't change her last name because she's already known as Tara Platt in the VA industry?
But anyway, neat news update
thanks! I admire voice actors and I like voice acting.

The Shining. Now there's a movie I never expected to see held up as an example of marital harmony...

relax people. people in the public eye do not change their names if their name was known before their marriage. it is not a disrespect of their marriage, just a thing for actors. they also can do a dash thing, but those can get really long.

Knowing Nate as well as I do (Which is admittedly not very) I think he's just being sarcastic. False alarm, guys. Nothing to see here.

You kiddin' me? Lots of strong couples in that movie! The little boy and his imaginary friend/psychic personification, Jack's character and the bartender, the two little twins... Lots of them!

glad to know mine's still working. Sometimes it's like those radar detectors that beep at everything or beep at nothing.
