Japanator wrote: In an interview with MTV's Movies Blog, they got a chance to talk with George Miller -- the writer/director of the Mad Max series -- has said that he's planning on doing the next film in the series as an anime feature. According to the talk, he said, "I see myself as someone who is very curious about storytelling and all its various media. I’ve always loved anime, in particular the Japanese sensibility. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do."

Miller isn't looking to do a straight anime-style, he says. Instead, he's going for something that's more of an anime-esque style, shifting some of the sensibilities of anime and gearing them more twoards a Western audience. He compares himself to Akira Kurosawa in that sense -- and he's right on that idea. Kurosawa made Japanese films that were distinctly Western in influence, and was often criticized for that in Japan.

I'll have to hear a good deal more than that before it becomes worth any genuine reaction.

I'm... not sure what to say. Um, I'm not sure I entirely understand the intention. Hmm...
