What if Tim Burton directed Lord of the Rings?

For that matter, what if you replaced any of the actors with another unrelated actor? Say... Jack Black instead of John-Rhys Davies for Gimli? Or Jennifer Anniston played Arwen? Just imagine what could happen.... XD
Try pointing out a few places where a cast change could have been made, for better or for worse. List the changes, list the actors, list the effects. I know LotR is old news, but this could prove quite interesting. ^_^

They're kind'a best buds. Kind'a really best buds. But yeah. Johnny Depp would be Aragorn, Helena Bonham-Carter would be Arwyn because Burton has this odd thing for his best friend mackin' his wife. Oh! And everything would be gray and cloudy.

Everyone seems to forget that if it's Tim Burton directing it could also be stop motion. In which case everyone would be long and spindly. And Danny Elfman would do the score. LotR Musical anyone? Hooray for Tim Burton!

Except for the bits that are in bright, loud, obnoxious pastel colors.
