The Office

I checked the old posts, and I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread about the U.S. version of The Office yet. I think it's probably the best sitcom on TV right now. So...Office discussion, go.

I'm rewatching season 4 now. Season 5 has been excellent so far. Creed Bratton is still my favorite character. Every time he's on the screen, I die laughing.

Every time someone tells me The Office sucks, I usually think "Just because you don't get it doesn't mean it isn't funny."

Sometimes, I say it.

I haven't watched it that much, but it is pretty funny.

I just got into this show... I honestly thought it was stupid based on the previews for it when it was new... I thought it was trying to be British and I am not a fan of British humor.

However, my friend did show me a clip with Jim/Dwight pranks which were hilarious. So I got the first season which I thought was decent. Come season 2 I just think the whole thing is pure gold. And I generally don't like comedy at all and never watch TV cause most of it is just stupid. But this show is awesome.

So I just bought the Office "Ultimate Package (thats what she said!)" with all 4 seasons after getting sick of having to wait for the next disc to come in the mail. And I never buy TV shows. I own the complete Highlander TV series from way back when and thats it. I can actually go back and have fun rewatching episodes and I barely re-watch movies let alone tv shows and usually NEVER comedies (honestly not a fan of most comedy and once you've seen it, it's usually not funny the second time... this is an exception)

This is one of the only things I'll watch on TV. The thing I love about this show is.....the characters are just SO GREAT. SOOOOOO much so, that I can't really pick a favorite. My favorite episode has to be "The Injury", but there are so many great episodes (like the grief counseling episode). One of my favorite parts in the recent episodes was that small bit where everyone was The Joker for Halloween. That was hilarious.

I used to really love The Office, but it came to be just so steeped in racy, vulgar, and homosexual humor that the guilt became unbearable. I'll admit, it was hilarious...just not worth it to me.

Yeah, it's one of the only things I'll watch on TV anymore, too. The way it plays up the quirkier side of human nature for laughs just leaves me frequently astounded.

Did anyone catch the new 2-parter over the last couple weeks?

"It is your birthday."

When the heck does season five come out on DVD? I need more of this show in my life! I'm especially anticipating seeing when Holly finds out Kevin isn't actually mentally retarded. He played it up so well, the part with Holly and Kevin at the vending machine still cracks me up.

I'm still pretty sure Stanley is my favorite character. I'm actually glad Toby left at the end of season 4, he was okay at first but he slowly became more creepy and unfriendly in the later seasons. I'm disappointed he came back (I saw a commercial for a newer episode that spoiled me).

I seriously need to catch up on this show...XD I had a night class last semester that ended at 9:20, so I always missed The Office. What I saw of season 5 was hilarious, so I hope to catch up to it really soon. XD

Toby's return is actually one of the funniest episodes this season. You will feel differently when you see it. It's amazing.

Season 5 probably won't be out on DVD for a while since it hasn't ended on TV, so I'm guessing probably around September. There have been some great episodes and moments this season, though. Like this scene.

Yeah. :/ You're RONG. I hate to sound condescending (but when has that ever stopped me?), but the Office, in any of the versions, does somewhat (I say somewhat because there are plenty of people who get it who don't have this) require a certain quality of life experience that comes from working in a job and dealing with all of the combined eccentricities of a large group of people. It plays off of the little neuroses of human behavior and that is what makes it funny. If you're 16, you might not have developed an appreciation for something like that. Besides, this is a thread for people who like The Office. : / I wasn't asking who doesn't like The Office.

Most of the good Office clips have been taken from youtube, sadly. But here's one reason why Stanely is my favorite character.

And one of my favorite Jim/Dwight moments.
