Favorite Disney Animated Movie?

It's simple: What is your favorite Disney animated movie? (Pixar doesn't count!)

For me, it's a very difficult choice, but in the end I think that it goes to Beauty and the Beast. It's such a beautiful movie.

Though I also really love Sleeping Beauty, Robin Hood, and Alice in Wonderland.

Here's a full list of Disney's theatrically released animated movies.

(The old thread is over three years old, and there just simply isn't enough room to include all of the movies on a poll)

Its hard for me to pick one of my favorite Disney movie.

The older movies on the list that are my favorite were Lady and the Tramp, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, The Aristocats, Robin Hood, The Rescuers and The Fox and the Hound.

The movies that I grew up with in the middle 80's and 90's were The Great Mouse Detective, Oliver & Company, The Rescuers Down Under, Aladdin and Te Lion King.

But I think the one that really stands out for me is The Great Mouse Detective since Vincent Price did the voice of the villain Professor Padraic Ratigan.

I converted him. :P It's one of my personal favorites too.

I have too many. Let me pick out the best of the bunch:

Theatrical

Robin Hood--watched ON END as a kid.
Fantasia (1940)--same as above. It's one of those movies that gets better and deeper as you grow older.
Sleeping Beauty--like Fantasia, great art and music. (And the best villain EVAR)
The Great Mouse Detective--turned me into a Sherlock Holmes fan without me even knowing it. (And I agree with Roy--Vincent Price was brilliant.)
Mulan--finally, a movie where the girl actually fights.
Treasure Planet--I feel guilty having watched this only on Youtube. Great characters.

Direct-To-Video

A Goofy Movie--because it has Goofy. It also kicks every other teen movie out of the water.
Aladdin and the King of Thieves--Oh, come on. It was funny.

In no particular order:

Aladdin, Robin Hood, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, The Great Mouse Detective, The Rescuers (I enjoyed 2 more than 1, but it might just be that I remember it better), Lilo and Stitch.

Atlantis has one part (the carrots) which was particularly funny, but I wasn't that taken with the rest of it.

The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King (but not in that order). I think mainly those take the cake as I was around the age you go see those when they were coming out and I have distinct memories of my first time watching each one. I saw all but the Little Mermaid in theatres at least once and Little Mermaid I remember seeing the trailers for on TV all the time saying it was coming soon to theatres. Beauty and the Beast was one of the first movies I remember seeing in theatres (actually, the very first I remember seeing was Hook... My aunt wouldn't tell us what movie what we were going to see but we guessed it was either Hook or Beauty and the Beast).

So ya those are all still my favorites ^_^ And I like the Black Cauldron and Sleeping Beauty but not much else other than that.

The Little Mermaid was my favorite movie as a kid. I don't like it as much anymore, but one thing I will say about it is that the songs are fantastic.

Nobody likes Pinocchio, but it's one of my favorites. I also like Sleeping Beauty a lot. Oh yeah, and The Three Caballeros. That movie is awesome.

Peter Pan is probably my favorite of the animated Disney movies. I probably watched it fifty times as a kid. I think I can very nearly quote the entire film by heart.

I love Disney movies! I haven't seen that many recently though... of the ones I've recently scene, I love Mulan, especially the part where she decides to leave, while it's raining and playing that awesome music. Tarzan is also pretty awesome. "I've had it with you and your emotional constipation!" "Is this water sanitary?"

Besides those, I remember a few of my favorites from when I was little. The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast. Lol Aladdin scared me when I was little. My babysitter got mad at me because I didn't want to watch, so I kept running away.

On another note, playing Kingdom Hearts brought back waaay too many childhood memories. Some day I just need to rent a bunch of old Disney movies and sit down and have a marathon.

 You are the first person I've come across who's even mentioned that movie! When I think about it, actually that's my favorite Disney movie. For years, that was the only Aladdin one I had, so in a way I like it even more than the wonderful first installment (and of course, Return of Jafar was just shy of being horrible). I've watched it more times than I can count, and I still recite lots of the Genie's jokes.

1. Aladdin and the King of Thieves ("Look, the crowd's parting - IT'S MOSES!")
2. Aladdin ("The exits are here, here, here, herehereherehere, ANYWHERE!")
3. Beauty and the Beast ("Oh, Master, you look so...so...." "Stupid.")
4. Brother Bear ("Man into bear. No beaver!")
5. Treasure Planet ("Yes, deplorable. Uh, adorable!")

I grew up on this stuff, so it's hard to choose a top favorite, so here are my tops:

Beauty and Beast ~ A movie where it's not love at first site and the couple get to know each other before falling in love? Yes, it's true!! And wonderful!

Mulan ~ Mulan is just plain awesome. Period.

Treasure Planet ~ Ah, Disney imagination got a boost on this one! Wonderful movie.

The Emperor's New Groove ~ "DON'T THROW OFF HIS GROOVE! Beware the groove!!" :D

I also enjoy very much Cinderella, Lady and the Tramp, Mary Poppins (part of it is animated so it still counts, right?) and The Lion King.

I much prefer anime over Disney. But, there are some Disney films that I really like:

Little Mermaid
Beauty and the Beast
Sleeping Beauty
Cinderella
Aladdin

I'm an incurable romantic. I like the songs especially for: The Little Mermaid and also Beauty and the Beast. I love "Kiss the Girl" It's just very sweet and tender. :)

Sorry for the double post. I just wanna say one more thing about Disney. Hopefully, I won't have to talk about anything Disney again for a long time.

I recently saw Ashley Tisdale's version of "Kiss the Girl". A nice pop/rock version of the song complete with good guitars and it was also a nice video. I actually like this version of the song the BEST! :jump:

But, now...before anyone here gets any silly thoughts in their head! :stressed:

No, I am NOT a fan of High School Musical! I repeat NOT a fan of HSM! :bootout: hehe

Beauty and the Beast - I was just getting to that age where I could separate fantasy and reality. I really liked the character of Belle, and having it sink in that the characters were French, made me realize for the first time that there were people outside my little world that I had heard of, but never encountered, who were very real.

A Goofy Movie - Hysterical from beginning to end, with likable characters.
