An article I read today from ChristianityToday.com. It's an interview with the director and creator of Wall-E, who is actually a Christian. I was so excited about this movie before, and now I'm even more excited, just because it's so obvious that this guy absolutely loves what he does. XD Hope you guys enjoy!

OOH how cool! And the point that I would drive home over and over again is exactly what they are talking about.
"You don't need to dumb down the Gospel and force feed it!" XD
Great article, Corrie! I didn't know he was a Christian, how cool!
And "EVE" HAHA! I get it now!
I can't wait to see this movie.

Man, I had a customer last week. Her teenage girls were saying, "Oh! I wanna see that Wall-E movie." then she suddenly says quite loudly and angrily "Why would you want to see that? It looks so stupid!!" except much more demeaning.
I wanted to say to her, "Here is your change, here's your bag, YOU HAVE NO SOUL!"

That's awesome that there are Christians working in well-known companies like that. He has such a great attitude, too, not caring about the money or demographics, yet Pixar's films are STILL really popular.
And Etoh, I don't know what's wrong with that woman, XD. Wall-E is the cutest robot ever and Pixar's films are really good, XDD.
Also, the whole not dumbing down your story just because you're a Christian thing is totally how I approach writing, XD.

What amazes me is that movies like this continue to make good box office ratings, but Hollywood continues to think that we like ultra-violent stuff. WHY? When will they get the point?

Eh, the ultraviolent stuff can be fun but variety is the spice of life!

What's funny to me is Passion of the Christ was a violent movie and Christians loved it.
Also what is with this stupid fad of adding "ultra" at the beginning of everything? It's ultra-annoying.

While it's nice to see Christians in the industry not being overbearing with their message, I have mixed feelings about what he said in the interview. Also about this film, as a matter of fact, though those two are probably unrelated.

I just wonder how a robot can feel love.
There's also one statement he said in the interview that I don't really agree with, but I'll leave it be. XD

I wonder who would win in a fight:
The robot from I, Robot, or Wall-E?

She was embarrassed by her kids' enthusiasm, because she's forgotten how to enjoy life. I often feel blessed that I've managed to hang on to some of it, when I see people like that.

If the Lord wills it, anything is possible.
I have no problem with movies like I, Robot or Wall-E, that blur the lines between human and machine, because ultimately, they're entertainment. Even theologically, though, I believe that if any human creation ever thinks and feels like a human, it will be because God was never absent from the process.

I agree. People need to start using O-MEGA- instead!

I agree. *nodnod* But honestly I was speaking more on a technical level. Like, love is so complex that how could a thing ever be programmed well enough to fully comprehend it? XD I mean they can't even make an IM bot capable of carrying on an intelligent conversation, so love seems to be a bit out of reach...
My only problem with I, Robot was that it was the kind of movie Isaac Asimov hated and he would probably have harsh words for the makers of that movie if he were alive. XD

So is this the Wall-E thread? Or is there a different one?
Gah, I can't hold in my excitement either way...YAY! I'm going to see this tomorrow! FOR FREE!
This looks like it has the potential to be one of Pixar's best. The interview was pretty informative, I say. I love what I've read of the plot and I turn into a little girl every time I see a commercial for this.

Yes it is now the Wall-E thread. XD
And I'M EXCITED TOO.
However I'll probably be going alone if I want to see it tomorrow night, which is SAD. D: Tomorrow or Saturday are the days I'm seeing this movie. XD

Wow. Just wow.
I personally don't think Wall-E looks that good at all.
I just don't like the concept.
I might give it a shot if my family goes to see it or something.

This is why I want to work there and have been working for five years now towards it. They don't care who you are or where you come from, if you've got talent and love to do it, they're interested. It's not about making money. It's about making money to make more films.

Hey, most of my favorite movies are all pretty violent.
Don't diss violence just cause you think violence is immature and just out there to please. XD

I agree with Corrie. Serious in a thread about a robot with a cute voice is something that sillyfaces do.
THEREFORE, I will talk about the robot with the cute voice. This movie looks good even though I'm still a bit confused about the plot.
Hey, I'd rather spend money on this one than Space Chimps. Srsly.

Oh that's okay. I mean I know how to use a blackjack, we can lock her in the closet until after it's over. If you want I can also wear a dress or some girl pants or something. Y'know, just so long as you take me.

Uhhhh, it actually has an interesting premise that creates some serious thought.. A robot that has been doing the same thing for 700 years without shutting down, and has developed a personality from quirks? Sounds Like some serious discussion could be derived from that. Americananimation isn't just for kids... although a lot of people seem to think that. Most of it is, I will agree. But Pixar branches out from that. From what I've read about the plot, although yes, it's G rated and kids won't be warped from watching it, I think a lot of will be geared to an older audience and will go right over the kids heads...
