CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

So anyone a stoked for this as i am. It looks pretty much epic and awesome. The first one is one of the best movies i have seen. Art direction,plot (though a but lacking was still decent), script name it and it was all pretty good. So who else wants to see the second one?

YES! I'm so psyched for this movie. del Toro, Mignola, Perlman, Jones and Goss....it's going to be one big del Toro-fest!

I am so excited for this movie. I've had to avoid thinking about it so I can be patient.

i saw the trailer for this movie when i went to see Prince Caspian. it looks pretty epic. the first Hellboy movie was pretty disappointing. but i'm not a very big fan of the Hellboy comics so it's not as big of a deal to me.

So, uh...

Anyone see it yet?

I plan to in the very near future...maybe I'll wait until the eighteenth and see The Dark Knight, too...like...a double feature...

Whoa, got sidetracked. This movie looks awesome, and I seriously can't wait. I kind of adored the first movie a lot.

my sister and brother in law saw it today and said it was awesome. I plan on going tomorrow!

saw and loved it freaking amazing art direction. Be warned this is not a Big action flick. more story than action.

I just saw it, and I loved every minute of it. Hellboy 2 blew up my imagination.

Saw it this evening, had a blast! It's a lot faster-moving with more humor and character development than the previous one. Abe has a larger role (YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY DOUG JONES) and Luke Goss did a very good job as Nuada. The rest of the cast was awesome though I was a bit put-off by Manning's whininess. He didn't seem THAT bad at the end of the first movie.

Johann was significantly different from the comic (the comic version being a newcomer and a bit more timid, with a slightly cuter design) but his one big scene was great.

I really liked the art direction in this movie--it was like the fantasy aspect of Pan's Labyrinth plunked down in a mechanized world.

"I'm not going to stand by and watch a cat get killed!" LOL words to live by.

I went to the midnight release on thursday. IT WAS AMAZING!!!

I saw it yesterday. It's one of the most fun movies I've ever seen in a theater, and the second best movie I've seen all year.
I liked it significantly more than the first, and I liked the first one a lot.

I thought Myers was pretty annoying in the original, so his absence was welcome. The humor was much better this time around, and the movie as a whole was far less cheesy/predictable, especially when it came to action scenes. Seriously, you could make a drinking game out of the action scenes in the first. Take a shot every time someone gets thrown back into glass. You'll be passed out before the midway point. Also, the end of the first movie stands out in my mind as a perfect example of how a bad ending can ruin a good movie, this one wasn't nearly as bad.

So yeah. I loved it.

I'm not interested in HellBoy himself but the character creation and art direction look amazing. I especially love the look of that creepy angel with eyes in it's wings (very Pan's Labyrinth).
I'll have to see the first HellBoy before this one, and maybe Devil's Backbone also.

I hate to say it, but the more I think about this movie, the more plot holes I see. The absolute worst probably being
[SPOILER]The crown is supposedly indestrucible, but they're able to melt it without any problem whatsoever. Why didn't they just melt the piece they had if it was so easy?[/SPOILER]
I dunno. I still like the movie. Maybe I missed something.

I saw it yesterday. It was great; I thought it was way better than the first one. the Storyline actually made sense, the character development was pretty good, and the fight scenes were awesome. It was like a Jet Li movie ^^. I only had a few small complaints.

[SPOILER]Why didn't the king guy just destroy the crown in the first place, instead of splitting it into three peices. Seems like it would have saved a lot of trouble [/SPOILER]

[SPOILER] The scene with the death angel seemed like character derailment to me. First off, it makes HB and Liz's relationship look realy selfish; it would have been one thing if she'd said something like "I don't believe you, he won't do that. I believe in him" or something like that, but she basicly says that she's willing to let the earth be destroyed in exchange for saving HB's life. And the other thing; didn't we already cover the whole "destroy the world: destiny vs free will" thing in the LAST movie? Wasn't that the entire POINT??[/SPOILER]

My last annoyance didn't actually bother me till I came home and read Plugged In's review of the film. [SPOILER]Why did they all quit at the end? I guess there are some valid reasons why Liz and HB would want to quit, at least temporarily (so they can focus on their family), but why did the rest of them quit too? I can't help but feel that maybe the plugged in review has a point: "The hallmark of superheroes is not the ability to fly or beat up nasty beasties: It's the willingness to sacrifice themselves for a greater good. Spider-Man, Batman, the X-Men were all, at some point in their careers, despised by the very folks they protected—yet they protected them anyway. Not so Hellboy's team. At the end of the film, they turn in their badges and quit the force—turning their backs on not just a flawed government, but apparently humanity itself. " [/SPOILER]

Saw it today, had no real gripes. Enjoyed it.

Saw it and left the theater feeling vaguely dissatisfied. It felt like a set of action scenes set in order, none of them particularly amazing. I really think Del Toro should leave fantasy out of his films - while he has a great imagination, his fantasy lacks the subtlety of his real-world writing in Pan's Labyrinth, for example.
