What do you most of you guys think about avatar being an American anime? some things that i love about this series its very light hearted has a good strong story line. The animation isn't too bad either. My Favorite Characters are Sokka and Toph.

It's the only American made series I would call anime. The art doesn't look forced or fake and even though it doesn't go into too much depth (except for the third season), it's still pretty good, especially for a kids' show.
Toph is awesome. That is all.

I love Avatar the Last Airbender! The story is fun as well as engaging. Plus, it also takes a look into Chinese martial arts fighting styles (Earth, Air, Fire, Water) as well as Asian mythology and folklore which is one of the reasons I find it so appealing. Though Avatar isn't considered an anime I say it can hold it's own amoung the Japanese-anime heavy weights. ^__^
My favorite characters from the show would be: Sokka, Toph, Zuko, Ty Lee, Iroh, and Momo (too cute!).

Yep, I do like it as well. I wonder when they are going to continue the third season. I mean the last episodes I saw was "The days of black sun" or something like that. I like it for it being very similar to anime, the comedy, and the very good story plot. Its hard to believe that Nickelodeon is capable of such stuff(Well I mean deep plots and shows with these plots that continue on to the next episode as anime often does.).

I would list it as being one of the best animated series made in America.

This is probably one series that I wish were longer. There are a lot of anime series I like that should be longer (Kaleido Star season 3, I wish you existed) and there are a couple that should be shorter (Naruto, I'm sorry but you need to end). Avatar could just keep going and it would be fine for a while, but the fact that it has a planned ending means that it won't lose its substance.

I think anime or cartoons that are like anime should be a good length, not too long but not too short. If they added more seasons onto Avatar, it might lose some of its charm. This happened to Pokemon for me.

Toph is pretty awesome. Avatar, IMO, is the only decent American anime. Like...ever. Seriously. Lol

I've heard rumors about this being the last Season of Avatar as well but now it's completely confirmed
here.
I think the reason why Avatar The Last Airbender really struck a cord for most viewers was because it was so far from what other anime(s) had plot-wise. Avatar just had a really solid story that was engaging and not full of too much action or too much fluff or too many fillers! Plus, the vocal cast was beyond awesome.
In a way it's sad that season 3 will be were Avatar ends for us viewers but it's also a good thing as well. Most shows that keep going on and on and on lose the spark that made us love it in the first place! As long as Avatar ends well I will be completely content! Who knows Avatar is already going to get a feature film made out of the cartoon (but who knows when it will air on the silver screen) and it may also give us fans a spin-off story or possibly a new era of Avatar.
I mean if they killed off Aang (which is probably unlikely) that would mean a new Avatar would arise again, would it not?
But this is all speculation on my part.

I really wished Kaleido Star had a season 3 as well or at least give us the other OVAs but who knows Aria The Animation went through the same dilemma. Fans screaming, petitioning, and basically in an uproar after Season 2 ended were able to get a Season 3 airing for that show in Japan! Super Gals! Season 2 was another anime that Americans wanted dubbed here but instead we received that show subtitled which is a good and bad thing. Good because fans of the show were able to continue where the first season left off, regardless of it being subtitled...bad because they could've just dubbed it with the very willing American cast they had before >___< All in all I'm just happy they did SOMETHING about it.
Same goes with Strawberry Marshmallow. You'd think they'd at least give us American Fans the OVAs!
Ok, this off-topic ranting of mine shall cease! ^__^

Super GALS season 2. . .I want it.
I love how Zuko, Azula, and the rest of their gang have different levels of their personalities (that beach episode in season 3 is great), showing how they're all, in a sense, unwillingly caught up in the war.

Oh yeah thats when they all discussed their problems(And even some of them weren't obvious, so its good for the inside look).
I forget her name(Was it Lin?), anyways the weird good looking girl, I knew she came from a circus but I didn't know it was that dramatic for her.
Yes, I find that a trademark episode that I don't think any other american cartoon has, it makes the series unique.

There absolutely WILL NOT be an Avatar season 4.
They planned 3 seasons from the start and have no intentions of continuing past that point.

Actually, wasn't it that the story of Aang is going to be three seasons but they may make other series based in the Avatar universe?

I've never heard anything about this, and I know people who are in touch with the show's staff...

I am a die hard Avatar fan! Certainly one of the best things to come from Nick in a loooong time! The storyline is well thought out, the characters are likeable (even lovable?) and the animation is clean and well done. I like the aspect of it being divided into four "books" each one devoted to an element. Zuko rocks, but I swear if I were to come across one more "Zutara" fanfiction, I would lose it... Would have to say that Uncle Iroh is my fav, followed closely by King Bumi! ^_^
As for the art style... American animation generally tries TOO hard, IMO, to copy the anime style, where as Avatar homages it by emulation... I feel bad, because I havent watched it in a long time, and I know I've missed a ton of stuff... I'll have to go back and try to pick up where I left off...
Ummm, on a slightly related topic, does anyone on here watch Kappa Mikey?

I caught a few episodes when I saw it on T.V. It was a cute TV show though I think it was canceled, wasn't it?

I always found it LOL funny... and to be honest, I don't know if it's been cancelled... but it is FULL of anime in-jokes, like the plastic surgeon Katashi Takashi who looked an AWFUL lot like Kakashi from Naruto... and the aging biker who looks like Speed Racer... good stuff. My kids and I watch it whenever we can. ^_^

I should really catch up on that show ^^ I loved it when it first came out, but then.. the internets came along (for me that is)
It was really refreshing to see such a show come from Nick. Not dissing Nickelodeon or anything like that, but it is a refreshing break from Sponge Bob and the others ^^ I remember when NIck aired the New Speed Racer. Not sure what happened to that, but it has been a while since Nick whipped out anime basked material ^^

Ok, I just finished watching Avatar The Last Airbender: Book of Fire: Volume 3 and I just cannot see how they can sum this up in 5 more episodes. There is so much that needs to be done I mean come on...
Just because Zuko and Aang went to the temple of the Sun Warriors to learn the true technique of Fire bending...the writers of this show now deem Aang an awesome firebender? I think not! How are two episodes of fire bending going to make him rock against the fire lord? I know he's the Avatar but...
I mean it took Aang most of the first season just to learn how to water bend and the second season it took him a while just to figure out earth bending. I just don't know where this is headed.... :/
Also,
Mae and Ty Lee are imprisoned by Azula! Mae because she saved Zuko and Aang's crew. Ty Lee because she saved Mae from Azula's bending.
How are they going to sum that up in 5 episodes.
I'm hoping it'll have an amazing ending though but I still think they could've easily had a 4th season.

I think Avatar The Last Airbender is a cool and enjoyable series.
A very well done American made Anime series.
It's Very clean too (content wise).
BTW does it even air new episodes on Nick anymore?
Just wondering since the last episode (new one ) that I saw was the one when
Aang and Zuko first joined forces after the Invasion of The Fire Nation.
Ummm, on a slightly related topic, does anyone on here watch Kappa Mikey?
Here and there sometimes.
The art is not so good though IMO.
I remember when NIck aired the New Speed Racer. Not sure what happened to that, but it has been a while since Nick whipped out anime basked material ^^
I think it airs on Nick Toons Network now.
From what I've seen isn't so good IMO.

so I absolutely hate American animation, it bothers me to no end for some reason. However, as long as I'm not really watching the show, and just hear it in the background, I like the show.
It's my fiance's favorite show....

I generally dislike American animation as well, but Avatar is quite awesome.
New episodes should be airing in July.

Avatar recently stopped airing but they continued to put out the next installment in the Book of Fire singles that would be Volume 3 which you can buy at your local, Walmart, Target, Suncoast, FYE, etc. So, if you do not want to wait to watch it on Nick than pick up the DVD! ^__^

I saw the first episode of Avatar today. It actually looked pretty good. I might follow it if I can, I think in shows once a week though. Hopefully they show all of it.
