There have been quite a few funny movies, but for my sense of humor two of them really distinguish themselves with brilliant writing, adept physical comedy, and general attention to detail:
The Pink Panther Returns
Lost Skeleton of Cadavra

Many of the same:

• Monty Python and the Holy Grail
• The Producers (1968 version) - much better than the 2005 musical remake.
• The Court Jester
• Shaun of the Dead (liked it more than Hot Fuzz, not that I didn't enjoy the latter).
• Arsenic and Old Lace
• Raising Arizona
• Buster Keaton's Steamboat Bill, Jr (Silent Comedy)
• Buster Keaton's Our Hospitality (Silent Comedy)
• Doctor Strangelove
• Plan 9 From Outer Space.

HELP!
And Now For Something Completely Different
This Is Spinal Tap
8-Legged Freaks
Clue
Oh, and UC, I've always wanted to see the Lost Skeleton of Cadavra, ever since I heard of it. Is it worth purchasing? (I should hope so, I've watched the trailers over and over)

The English dub version of King Kong vs. Godzilla. Quite possibly the best man-in-suit movie ever made.

Any dub of any Japanese monster movie is hilarious because of the way the synchopation is off.

I would say it is definitely worth the purchase. While I haven't seen the trailers, I'm sure they can't encapsulate the awesomeness that is the film's dialogue. There are also some extra features on the DVD, including some outtakes that are funny for varying reasons. Having said that, I leave you with this:
"Do you know what this could mean? If we find it... and it's real... do you know what this could mean for science? It could mean actual advancements... in the field of science!"
And the greatest line in the entire film: "I also wonder."

Sorry, I had to. XD
It's definitely on my list then!

Its a mad, mad, mad, mad world! (Extremely funny, I can't stop laughing every time I see it.)
There are others, but these two are tops with me.

Since it's apparent that we're all about correcting people's mistake, I figure I should inform you that it's actually
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. Colon was in the wrong place, you forgot the word "Learned" and "to", "Stopped" should be "Stop", and "Began To" should be taken out.
mitsuki lover wrote:Any dub of any Japanese monster movie is hilarious because of the way the synchopation is off.
You mean "synchronization". "Syncopation" (Not "synchopation") is the shifting of accents in music.
Anyway, Hot Fuzz was pretty much one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, along with Shaun of the Dead. Monty Python and the Holy Grail is another classic.

Santa Clause Captures The Martians (really cheesy!)
Robin Hood Men In Tights
Pirates of the Caribbean

Although I haven't really seen the movie, my boyfriend's aunt is apparently in the movie. She's a dog breeder, of course.
Funny movies... funny movies... I've got tons^^ I've seen more than half of the comedy section at rentals, and have much too much to list^^ Lots of gooders.

Has no one here ever seen a Danny Kaye movie?! Sheesh, he puts almost all the movies mentioned so far to shame!
His movies, especially Court Jester, are ingeniously hilarious, and I love them to pieces.... All two of them I've seen << >>
I'm glad someone mentioned Laurel and Hardy, though. They're side-burstingly funny, too. I'm partial to the extremely obscure movie The New Adventures of Laurel and Hardy: For Love or Mummy.
And the Andy Griffith show is really funny as well. I
love Don Knotts!

Hey, I listed The Court Jester in my list.
"Got it?"
"Got it."
"Good."
The pellet with the poison is in the pestle with the vess... oh nuts.

^^' Oops. Didn't see that. At least one other person knows Danny Kaye. Cheers!

"I'd like to get in, get on with it, get it over with and get out. Get it?"
"Got it."
"Good."
Though my absolute favorite part of Court Jester was when the one girl is telling the king she has a horrible disease. And I think I like the "duchess and her dirk" dialogue better than the "vessel with the pestle."

Yeah, those parts are good. One of my favorite parts is when he's demonstrating how he knows all these different languages, Spanish, Italian, and German and stuff, and then he says, "In other words: Why tarry?" And of course the parts where people keep snapping him in and out of his trance

Oh yeah "A Christmas Story" is especially funny.
When the dogs, from the nextdoor neighbor, steal the turkey.
When that one kid sticks his tongue onto the ice-covered pole. They had to call medical assistance to get him off that pole.
Also at the end of the movie where the family goes to a chinese restaurant for Christmas dinner. And the chinese people sing christmas music wrong.
You should watch this every year on Christmas day, there is a marathon of the movie that runs all day.

After looking at the qoutes above, I have come to this conclusion......I am not the only one who thinks Court Jester is a classic...
I've got one more to add that I recently watched.....Arsenic and Old Lace...
....Yeah, it's Dark comedy, and it's probably one of the only movies out there that make me go insane from laughter while creeping me out at the same time....
