I feel privileged to start the thread of the movie that is about my hometown, Elizabethtown, KY. I must say, it captured the local essence of Elizabethtown very well. It was odd seeing different parts of my hometown captured in a feature film, but the movie was excellent. Orlando Bloom did a fabulous job, as did Kirsten Dunst, Susan Sarandon, Alec Baldwin, and Jessica Biel (and I'm not a fan of any of the aforementioned actors save Dunst and Bloom). The movie is hilarious, yet touching. It's about the budding love between Drew Baylor (Bloom) and Claire Colburn (Dunst), but it's also about embracing your roots, and has a touching interlude about father-son relationships.
There are a couple of innuendos though, and about ten curse words, although two of them are f-words.
Overall, this movie was excellent.
