I bought the Japanese film "Casshern" at MegaCon.
Simply put, easily one of the top five films of all time, I kid you not!
Do whatever it takes, you need to see this.

Yes, it was a very interesting trailer. I imagine it would have been even more interesting if I could have understood what they were talking about.
Care to fill us in on the plot, Alberto? All I got from the trailer was some sort of political coup, something about mechas, an upper income family (perhaps royal family), and some guy who seems to be a super hero of some sort.

The first thing you must realize about Casshern: It's very hard to follow.
Basically, Professor Azuma is working on a way to give us longer lives.
During this time, a war is going on with Eurasia. Professor Azuma's son, Tetsuya, decides to go fight in the war.
Tetsuya promises Luna that he will marry her when he returns.
Tetsuya is killed in the war, and the "neo-cells" which are supposed to give us longer lives unleash these weird clone-esque people. Eventually robots attack and such.
As I said, it's hard to follow. It has a habit of showing you one scene, then later showing you the same scene, but with a few extra shots, to totally change what you had originally assumed was happening. Tetsuya dies, but is still on earth sort of like a ghost.
I can't really say much more without spoiling all of the cool parts.
Trust me, amazing film...if you can understand it.

I looks like its a steampunk/martial arts/mecha movie. The trailer looked good. Is it going to come to Western cinemas or at least DVD?

It's actually more drama than anything.
Rumours have circulated that Casshern will be released theatrically in the US. I got my DVD at MegaCon, and I'm sure you could find it on Bittorrent.

So is this even out on DVD? If Netflix gets it, I'll see it.

The fights are mostly just between robots. The only bloody scene is the swordfight between Tetsuya and Barashin. It's not overly violent. I'd give it a PG-13. Tetsuya becomes a bit bloody when he's damaged and such. Overall, nothing too bad.

I forgot to mention, Casshern has some pretty brutal war scenes. None of the scenes are bloody, just dark.
Overall, I'd still say the film is about PG-13.
