CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

This is such a great movie!! Such a classic! I've seen this movie so many times and it still is funny and great. It's actually became the my youth groups manditory movie, as in you can't join until you see this movie (not really but we say it)

Anyone else a fan of this movie?

Oh my gosh, I LOVE THIS MOVIE! WE can recite every line! Well, not really, but we do quote it all the time.

I mean, you're sitting in Sunday school and some one says "Turn to Luke chapter 3," how can one resist saying "Luke? Who's Luke?"

Or when someone you don't like very much flies of the handle at you and storm out of the room, you simple MUST call after them "There he goes. Off to write that hit song 'Alone in my Principles'!"

Or, for no reason at all, everyone once and a while you just gotta say "I'm signing'; you're signing; we're all signing!"

Or lastly, the lovely "You are my biggest fan!"

So what's the plot of this movie? I've never heard of it.

I saw it once in class- I have no idea why we watched it. It's about four guys who form a garage band, the Wonders, and how they suddenly get really popular, and all the stuff that happens to them because of the changes. Tom Hanks directed it, and the title song (That Thing You Do) won some awards, I think. At least, it's really catchy. The only thing that really sticks out to me about the movie (besides the song) is the scene where the announcer mispronounces their name, calling them the Oneeders. So they changed their name from the Oneders to the Wonders because the record company wanted to avoid confusing potential fans. Very Strange.

whee, I loved that movie. that drummer guy was cute. haha. I gotta find the DVD.

The plot centers around this dummer whose names is Guy Patterson. By a strange twist of events, Guy is convinced to play drums for a local band, the Wonders. Well, the song is a smash hit, and the movie details their rise to stardom and the events that befall them along the way.

Well, it's probably one of my top ten favorite movies of all time. It's heart warming, very clean, and absolutely hillarious. (BTW, Liv Tyler and Tom Hanks are both in it. )

You should really see it.

It's also very clean as well. It is based during the Beattle Revolution so not like crappy cookie cutter copy music they make like today.

My favorite lines are "

What are you? crazy! A man in a really nice camper wants to put our song on the radio. Gimmie a pen. I'm signing, your signing, we're all signing."

Oh, I'm not here with these fellas. I got a pigging competition over at the livestock pavilion and I am gonna win that blue ribbon.

You got any 3s? (makes noise as if frustrated) Well it Look's like Lenny's going fishin'.

Where was I? Oh yeah, playing songs on my guitar.

We came here to meet girls and dance, and we can't meet girls until we dance!

You know, Horace was right about you, Guy; you are the smart one. Lenny is the fool, Jimmy is the... talent, and Faye is... well, now, Faye is special, isn't she? And you are the smart one. That's what I think, anyway.

You see, we're not "The Wonders" right now. We're "Cap'n Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters".

Lenny is every bodies favorite. Whenever Jimmy is shown, whoever is watchig it yells out "JERK!!!"
