Sigh. No he wouldn't. He disliked movie-adaptations from all literature because he has never seen one that "didn't ruin the book". A few people tried to buy film-rights to his books in his lifetime but he refused. Maybe it was for the best because only now they have the technology to do it properly.

You need to wait for it to load, it may take a couple minutes.

They're going to!!! All the books have been "optioned" which means if TLTW&TW is a success then they'll start production on the next movie. In fact the script for Prince Caspian is being written already.

I really want to see this movie. I've never read the books, but I'm going to have to. I have friends who have read the books and they love them! They're really excited about the coming movie. We want to go see it together, but we'll see how that works out.

There was an earlier adaption that aired on PBS some time ago that featured
Tom Baker as Puddlegum.I think it was done by the BBC.

Sheesh, you guys are really excited about the Chronicles of Narnia Re-makes? The films have already been made, in the 80's or so, perhaps early 90's, in England, by the BBC company. The Movies were so close to the books, it was predictable what was going to happen. I just recently bought the old movies on DVD for $30, what a great deal. Anyways, I'm not looking to forward towards the re-makes, they just might take alot of the Christian Ideals and symbolism out, or what they probably will do, will make it even better then LOTR! That's at least my hope, as long as they retain the Christian perspective.

I'm definitely looking forward to this one!! I loved reading TLTW&TW, but that's the only one I've read so far...I can't wait for the movies, though! :D

They aren't really remakes, since the BBC version wasn't the original either, the books are. They are just another adaptation. Incidently, I saw that the DVDs for the BBC version also have a recipe for Turkish Delight. I've always wanted to try some.

I have both hopes and anxieties about this version. I hope that they keep in mind Lewis' original intent in writing the books as an allagory, and I fear that they'll pull a LOTR and add things that were never intended into the plot. If Peter Jackson comes within a mile of the set, I'm breaking his kneecaps.

Since someone asked, they have behind the seens trailers and also a theatrical trailer. This one was obviously behind the scenes, but if you go to the main trailer page you can watch the other ones too, or go to the official website.

Do you think they'll make all 7 books? They obviously aren't following the preferred order. Do you think they will make The Magicians Nephew and The Horse and his Boy (my favorite)?

The BBC versions of Narnia were tv series not movies!
They are talking of wanting to make all 7 books. If they do it will probably be in publishing order since that's why LWW is first to come.
I've very excited for this movie release. Doug Gresham, C.S Lewis' step son is watching over it all.

Here are several Behind the Scenes videos. I think there are 5 of them in total. Check them out below:

I actually think making them in publishing order is the right move.
a) LWW is the most recognizable and likely to garner a following from those unfamiliar with the books.
b) The children grow older in the books, and eventually get written out and replaced by others. This allows for the actors to leave after they're too old to play convincing children (thinking of Harry Potter here).
c) Everyone loves prequels.

Also the air of mystery, having things not explained instantly is more fun and interesting. I do hope they make all of them. Especially the ones that have never been adapted for tv/movie - The Horse and His Boy, The Magician's Nephew and The Last Battle.

The organizers of the official Narnia books has told Weta and Disney and whoever else is helping them that they were given the privilege (sp?) to make the whole series into movies.

That's totally awesome! :thumb:

I'm intrestred.

I was never truly intrested in Naria but the movie is making me intrested. I do like much of other Lewis's works.

If there are still anxieties about the movie not retaining its Christian heritage, I have a way to reassure you. I just recently got the soundtrack and it has NO secular artists. From Jars of Clay to Chris Tomlin, they are all Christian (meant as genre type) artists.

Why would Walt Disney not have the really popular secular artists if they weren't going to stick to the Christian allegory? Point thrown...

No. There is a LWW CD with only Christian artists. One with only secular artists and one of the movie soundtrack. They are trying to market the movie to everyone they can.

How could Walden Media mess this up? They are a CHRISTIAN film company. BTW, I highly recommend Because of Winn-Dixie

:bootout:

Come on man, don't be like that, they've made some great ones just recently...like The Three Musketeers with Donald, Mickey and Goofy, that was classic! :thumb: I should go see that again.

I just recenty heard that Mr. Eisner left Disney. He was the guy that mostly concerned on the finances of Disney and that's what made the cartoons so...magicless...so now that he's gone, they should be able to bring it back.

Hopefully of course.

(I just realize this is the first time I actually used the bootout icon)
