Are old TV shows included in this forum, if so, yay, but if not...PPFFFFFFFFFT

aNyways, does anyone remember the old kid's show Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?? that show was hilarious, man! It had it all...great music (rockapella!), funny jokes, great prizes (A trip to anywhere in NOrth America!) oh, and it was educational too. I can't get those little villain theme songs out of my head...

"Urtha Brute. Huh!"

and the little insignificant songs...

"It's the ONe and Only Plastic-Diver Guyyyyy!"

and the chief was funny too.

I loved that show! I think I was about...9 years old when it was on.

My memory is kinda foggy though, I mostly just recall the chief, the rockapella group and how they'd always get the winner to run around frantically on that giant floor map and try to put those glowing pylons in the proper spots (I used to get so stressed during that part). I seriously used to think that the ending song by the rockapella group was the absolute best song in the world.

That show was definitely up there with Bill Nye the Science guy, in terms of fave, educational(ish) childhood shows. I'm feeling old all of a sudden...

I watched that show everyday. I was so little then that I never knew the answers to the question, but I can still remember thinking "Wow. Those kids are so smart! I'm sure I'll never be able to memories where all the capitals of the United States are located. Those kids are so awesome!!!"

He he he.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

OMG! My older brother, my mom, and I used to watch that EVERY day when it came on! That was one of my favorite game shows. Ah, the memories. They even came out with a cartoon show about Carmen San Diego.

I totally forgot about Urtha Brute. XD

And so hold on when there is nothing left in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!' ...you'll be a Man, my son!

The show was inspired by the Educational Games if I'm not mistaken.

But there were two Carmen Sandiego appearences on TV. One was an animated TV-series the other was a game show. Personally I liked neither

I never watched much of the animated show, I think I only saw a few episodes but I can't recall if I liked it or not.
But the gameshow, I used to watch every day after school and I LOVED it.
I think it was by far the greatest kids gameshow.
..... of course my personal favorite and the one I wanted to be on more then anything was some video game gameshow where in the end the kids got to run through this jungle gym type thing grabbing video games and consoles.... don't remember the name, but hahaha did I wanna be on that gameshow more then anything.

Still the better kids gameshow goes from one they can learn from. :)

I like the celebrity clue givers on Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? the most. They had folks like the late John Ritter, the guy who does the voice of Aladdin, the late Sheri Lewis & Charlie Horse, all kinds of famous people.
