Donnie Darko

I've only just recently seen the movie Donnie Darko, starring Jake Gyllenhaal. While the beginning of the movie was shaky and quite thick with profanity, it evened out and turned out to be what I thought was a very well-thought-out film. It's dark and sweet and funny (the "smurfette" dialogue is hilarious) and pretty confusing, but on the whole worthwhile. I like to think of it as my warm-up to Boogiepop Phantom when I have the time...great performances and story.
As a side note, my dad said the Jake Gyllenhaal and Jena Malone would have made a better Spiderman and Mary Jane than Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst did...
And I like Frank. Even though he creeps me out. I like him *squeezes guy in freaky bunny outfit*
*likes dancing bananas too*

Donnie Darko is my favourite movie of all time
I found it very mentally stimulating, edgy, and totally unpredictable.
And I agree with you about Frank.. he really scared me the first time I watched it, but the next time I watched it I realized he's an awesome character... I think the bunny suit is cute, even ^^;

I need to watch that again sometime. I've only seen it once and I had a little trouble wrapping my mind around some of it.

Donnie Darko is so cool....yeah it is filled up bad language so take that with consideration when preparing to see the movie. The style, the acting, it's just so cool and has earned it's reputation of being a cult classic for a reason.
I suggest everyone get together with some friends and watch this movie on a weekend night. = )
