Bad movies you actually like

Dude, Lady in the Water was one of the worst things I've ever sat through. I mean, it might have been good if he had, I don't know, written the script BEFORE he started shooting.

I have not seen Unbreakable. This is a problem that must be fixed.

Also...there was a magic about the original Star Wars films that was completely lost in the new ones. I think it's in large part because the characters actually had chemistry. *gasp* What a concept.

YES. A thousand times YES.

Question. WHY did Padme marry Anakin? I still can't figure it out. The first thing she says to him in Episode II is "To me, you'll always be that little boy on Tatooine." The entire movie all he does is act like a total creep. In fact Padme gets freaked out, and rightly so, because he's acting so unstably. Then, we come to the climax, Anakin kills a bunch of Sand People. And somehow, SOMEHOW, genocide happens to be one of Padme's turn-ons?

Padme spends the entire movie acting disgusted by Anakin, culminating in the act that proves he is insane and dangerous, and not only does this make her go "Okay that's it, I am definitely leaving this nutjob for good," but somehow it makes her do a COMPLETE 180 on her previous feelings on his creepiness?

Someone explain to me how this is good writing. EXPLAIN IT TO ME. PLEASE. I could write better romance stories on a cocktail napkin using a ketchup packet at Denny's.

I think we should clarify "Bad Movie":
One or more of the following qualifications . . .

Low Budget
Poor Special Effects
Bad Acting
Weak Script
Box Office Flop

Examples: Gigli, Street Fighter, Eragon

Low budget doesn't always mean it's a bad movie. I mean, The Illusionist was done on a pretty low budget if I recall, but it's one of my favorites. Same goes for box office flop--a lot of people don't have to see it for it to be a good movie. However, I'm pretty sure no good movie has bad acting or writing. XD

Yeah. The Sockbaby Trilogy was filmed on no budget at all, and is easily one of the best movies ever conceived.

Note that SpoonyBard said *one or more of*, hence low-budget does not mean bad movie. Equilibrium is a wonderful movie done on a shoestring budget. Ultraviolet had a bigger budget but is not so wonderful.

I've got different interpretations of this, leading to different answers:
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (which, yes, is supposed to be bad.)
Dark Star which was incredibly low budget, and therefore low quality, but an all-time favorite.
Super Mario Bros. I can't define why I enjoyed this. It was a bad movie. A very weak movie. And fun. And I don't know why.
Starcrash One of several very bad B-grade sci-fi movies quickly trotted out shortly after the success of the first Star Wars movie. Dreadful. My high school buddies and I probably saw it a dozen times. I sometimes suspect "MST3K" was inspired by someone witnessing us down at the front of the theater, having a blast laughing at it.

Battlefield Earth
The Happening
Van Helsing
Taxi (2004)

But they are terrible movies, and probably shouldn't have been made.
