but the recent news is (i may be talking though my hat here, so forgive me if i'm wrong) that disney and pixar are only doing two or three more movies together.. they're mad at eachother or something, and so they're breaking off the contract...
From what I have heard, Pixar only signed a contract with disney good for like, 5 years. That covers Toy Story, Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life, Monster's Inc. and maybe Finding Nemo. However, the 5 years are/have been up, and Pixar wants a bigger cut of the pie now. They are no longer the small, indy animation company, but the #1 industry leader. They don't need the Disney name to sell a movie anymore, so they want a bigger chunk of the profits. Disney of course doesn't want to give it to them, and last I heard they were negotiating (or had reached a settlement) wherein they still worked together but there were more legal status for Pixar (i.e. A "Pixar Film" instead of just "A Pixar Production of a Disney Film").
BTW, any time I see a Pixar or Dreamworks film, it makes me want to work for them.
