Awful choices... the best out of that lot I think would be the guy from Dr. Parnassus. I could see him being a Peter Parker.

I don't really care though... I'm so burnt out of super hero movies, I really have no interest in seeing another one... unless Catwoman shows up in a new Batman movie... then I'll make an exception.

I only recognize a couple of those, but I trust Mark Webb to make good casting choices.

None of these immediately strike me as Peter Parker, really. XD I think that of that list, the best choice would probably be Jamie Bell, just at a first glance. I definitely disagree on the choice of Andrew Garfield, though. Maybe it's just his photo on that site, but he just doesn't look nerdy enough. XD Also, the thought of young Voldemort playing Peter just doesn't work in my mind! XD

But maybe I'm also just biased. XD I really liked Toby Maguire as Spiderman, until the third movie ruined him. XD

I always thought Jake Gyllenhaal was a better candidate for Spider-Man. Too bad they never gave it to him.

I don't really like most of those choices but considering how awful Toby Maguire was I can't imagine too many people being worse. I mean Maguire was just so whiny sounding and didn't really capture who Peter Parker was and definitely didn't capture Spider-man at all in my opinion.

Well, after reading that article, I'm a bit more hopeful. XD If they can make him look nerdy enough, it sounds like he'll have the acting skills to take on the role!

I have no objection to this. At all.

You know, I have no doubt they'll be able to make him look nerdy enough. I think he has the potential to look much nerdier than Toby Maguire. And I'm sorry, but when Maguire "cries" he kind of just looks like he needs some Chocolax, if you know what I mean... Still loved the old movies though.

To be honest, even though I like the idea of Garfield as Spiderman, I'm not sure why we need a reboot at all. But then, Spidey 3 was a horrific experience, so maybe it's just the trauma talking...

I see people have learned nothing from Spider-Man 3.

"Oh Topher Grace isn't THAT bad of a decision! I'm sure he'll do really well!"

Open your eyes people this is one of the worst casting decisions of all time. I can't believe it, have I gone to some parallel dimension where people can't recognize really terrible actors in roles?

Since when was Andrew Garfield a terrible actor?

Okay "terrible actor" is a poor choice of words admittedly. I'm sure he is a great actor.

I'll give an analogy. Morgan Freeman is a great actor. Absolutely fantastic. No denying that, yes?

It would be one of the worst casting decisions of all time to have Morgan Freeman play the role of Wally West, the Flash. Because he does not fit the character at all.

I hope this sheds more light on what I meant. Not that he was a terrible actor, but that this was a terrible role for him. Same as Topher Grace is actually not a bad actor but he was AWFUL as Venom.

Oh I get what you mean. You think that it is a bad casting decision. I don't know if I agree. I'm waiting until I see some footage, or at least a picture of him in the role. For now, though, I trust Webb's judgement.

So like, is it going to be a different story from the first three? I hate when they change out actors and actresses :(

I'd trust his judgment a lot more if Garfield didn't look absolutely terrible and no good for the role.

Wait, isn't this the exact same thing as when Edgar Wright cast Michael Cera as Scott Pilgrim and everyone was like "Man what a terrible decision" and people were like "LOL BUT EDGAR WRIGHT KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING" and then the movie came out and it's like no, he really didn't.

People are just not cut out for certain roles, and Andrew Garfield is an absolutely terrible choice, not QUITE as bad as Topher Grace as Venom but it's close. Like a gnat's wing.

I think remaking them at all is a terrible choice. But I like Andrew Garfield, so I remain optimistic.

True. I like George Clooney, but if they cast him as Batman, I wouldn't... wait... nevermind.

There is never any call to be optimistic about Superman movies.
