Hmm, I don't have much experience with ATI cards, but check this: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowto/ATI
If you have the latest version you may have to downgrade your xserver :o ...see: http://tan-com.com/posts/technology/fix-ubuntu-904-ati-driver-issue
That's a lot of sudo-ing though, so good luck.

Since you're talking about it...
What do you guys think of Ubuntu?
I've been meaning to see if I'd give it a try.

Having run Gentoo for a few years as my distro of choice, I've switched to Ubuntu simply because I don't have hours to squander away anymore setting it up. It's pretty much the distro of choice among all of my friends, except for maybe one or two Debian holdouts. Ubuntu is a very, very polished distro that I'd recommend by default, without giving it a second thought.

Just a quick note. Ubuntu does not ship with a compiler.

Other than that, yeah, Ubuntu isn't bad.

I tried it out a while back and I liked it a lot. You can also give it a try by using a live CD. I had it dual booted on my windows machine. I used it for like, 15 minutes, went to reboot and nothing would work after that. So, one reformat later, I was back to Windows again, lol

I'll look into it. I'm sure there should be some information if I Google the code, and or just how to install a compiler on the Ubunto OS. I'm still fairly new to all this. Just wanted to try Linux since I read that it might be better to start on Linux, and experiment from there.
Thanks Mith, stuff still looks like magic, and spells to me.
