Somehow, my computer has seemingly downloaded a virus. (I think it's a Trojan... )
It changed the wallpaper of my computer to some scary looking WARNING! thing. Now it's like my computer won't even load for me to try and get rid of it! How can I fix the problem if I can't even get on my computer? Like I said, I'm super freaked out about this. I really need some help! XC

(and yes, I am using a completely different computer for posting this)

The only think I can think of is reformatting you computer ^__^ Especially, since you can't even load anything 8(

What kind of computer do you have and what OS are you using ^__^?

(If you do choose to reformat, make sure to back up all valuable data you desire to keep)

This seems like a good suggestion, particularly the backing up data part! It does take a decent amount of effort, but it gives the cleanest result.

If you can get into safe mode, trying and back up everything and reformat. You should be able to boot from a Windows disk...

Hmmm, I looked up the model, but it seems that's the model of monitor ^^;

I'm not sure if it's the same for all Gateways, but I think to initiate the reformatting process you press F11 :-?

Oh wait, I forgot do you have the OS disc?

Give this a shot, if you can log in.

If you can't log in or start your computer, try the following (if you have some antivirus software installed, if you don't, well, no wonder you have a virus!)

Before the windows loading screen, press the F8 key to bring up a list (You should be able to press F8 from the time the computer is turned on until this moment in order to guarantee that you get the list). From the list, choose Safe Mode. This will allow you to boot into safe mode. Once you get logged in, use your virus scanner to scan your entire machine for viruses. Keep in mind that while in safe mode, you will be unable to install any software or go online.

Give that a shot, if you can.
