How does one place a picture within a post? I know you can add it in as an attachment, but how does one add it into the main post?

Simple host your image and insert the image's direct link between the image tags:

(without asterisks)

And place the image tags where ever you want.

This can be done quickly by pasting the image's url in your post, hilighting the url, and clicking the Image button above the post text area.
