Ok. So my dad takes videos on his digital camera all the time, however he can never email them to anyone because they're just too dang big. Any programs available (preferably free?) that he can use to shrink them? Thanks!

Windows movie maker should be able to do that. if your using a mac, iMovie will do the same.

Have you considered uploading the movies to youtube or some similar site, then sending out the URL instead? That might make up for not being able to send the files over email.

I think he has, but I don't know if he wants his vids available to anyone online. He just wants to make them youtube size, just not on youtube.

You could try
http://www.yousendit.com, which makes it quite private and you or the recipient don't need to sign up to access it. I recommend this option.

I was just going to ask if anyone knew of a "private alternative" to youtube. I haven't seen that before, w4c. It looks like the lite version will let you send up to 100 MB / mo for free. Cool!

A file on
http://www.yousendit.com only lasts for several days (maybe up to 14, can't remember). Anyway, you'll want to contact your dad and tell him, then he can download it. Hope it works out for you, mate.
