Dell inspiron 1501, can't use emulators or any games I can set my keys with on laptop, because there is a phantom keypres of KB141. I'm running XP on it, and the phantom keypress only started recently. I tried rebooting, tried different emulators, and tried with and without my controllers. I'm really bummed, because previously I was able to use my PS3 controller on it... Now I can't set my buttons because they all register as me pressing kb141, and I don't even know what button that is.

Check to see if you warranty is still up, if it is, send it to dell and get them to fix it.

If you have no warranty, if your good with computers, or a friend that is, take apart the lappy, and clean the contacts on the keyboard (pencil eraser works perfect for that). if that doesnt fix it, then your keyboard might be busted.

It's possible that's a driver issue - the keyboard may be identifying itself before sending data. I'm not sure how you would go about bypassing that, though. Try dell's website and see if there are new bios drivers, maybe...?

There are no newer drivers to get... This, along with my touchpad not responding to "click" motions anymore, are things that started a few weeks after I got the system. I've gone through and checked the name for each key, and this key doesn't actually EXIST on my KB... And I can tell the touchpad is picking up my finger, but it just doesn't accept the tapping motion as a click until I do it about 20 times in a row... Freaking dell... I can't even use screen savers because of this... I'd have gone acer if they had XP instead of vista...
