I keep getting this most annoying error when I try play Deus Ex (GOTY)...

This happens when I open the task manager with crt+alt+del and set Deus Ex's affinity to CPU 0... long story... anyways, when I go back into the game to play, I get this...



BTW, this didn't happen before I reinstalled Win XP Pro: Media Center Edition 2005...

... Everything worked fine before I did that...

Looks like a graphics card problem to me. Try updating you graphics card drives.

I'll never understand why one needs updated drivers for an old game...

Well... It wasn't a driver update problem...

Could just be that this install of Windows doesn't like it.

Try updating all the drivers, sound, etc, see if that helps, and make sure you have the latest patch for the game as well.

Have you attempted to re-install the game from scratch? Re-running the Windows setup should maintain your installed programs, but perhaps it did not in this case.
