touchpad on laptop not working

:mutter: i don't know anything about laptops or computers lol but i have a bit of an issue with the touchpad on my laptop. it seems to be working in some ways like you can still use it to move around the screen but when you tap on it, it doesn't click anything anymore :( it was working last night when i was using it but when i turned it on this morning, no matter how much i clicked it wouldn't do anything. can anyone please help me????????

It sounds like the tap-click was disabled somehow. The way to re-enable it depends on your OS, but we'll assume it's XP. Go to Control Panel -> Mouse, and somewhere in there is a tab for the touchpad options. The exact options vary with different brands of touchpad.

ah thanks lol i got it to work haha gosh now that would've been dumb if i went in to get it fixed and thats all i had to do :P i went to the settings earlier but didn't go to the right section. i donno why it was disabled though -___- this thing drives me crazy...i don't like vista lol
