New AC Jack? Or...

Okay. I know what's wrong with my laptop; something is screwed up in the AC Jack. A friend of mine told me it came unsoldered from the motherboard. So... I bit the bullet and took my lappy apart. I found the AC jack on the motherboard, and I'm looking at it right now. (Model: Dell Inspiron B130) It doesn't SEEM to be loose at all. Looking at it from the point of view it would normally be at if it was still in the laptop, I can see all the pins on it. It's set up kinda like this (I gots no camera, so bear with me):

_ll__________ll_
______O_______
______________
______________
______________
___ll_ll_==_ll___

Yeah yeah, crappy ASCII art. But basically, the ll and == are what I THINK are the pins, and the O is a plastic thingy. Thing is, though, all of the pins are a shiny, metallic-yellow color, while the == is black. I THINK the == might be burned up, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to be black or not.

OKAY, so basically, my question is this - is that black pin burned up, or is it supposed to be like that? If it IS supposed to be like that, how would I go about re-soldering it to the motherboard?

I know this is kinda a lame topic because it's so scatterbrained, but if anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it.

EDIT: Crap, it killed my ASCII art. I'll fix it with underscore, but for the record, the underscores are just supposed to be fillers.
