CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

I was wondering if anybody here has installed any non-English software for Windows XP and if there were (if any) issues/problems in doing so? I'm thinking of purchasing a Japanese PC game (A-Train 7) and wanted to make sure if whether or not to expect anything besides changing the language settings.

I've installed Korean versions of both Baulder's Gate II and Metal Slug 4. There was no difference from the English counterparts besides the menu's being in a different language. I'm pretty sure Japanese software will also work.

Cool, then that makes me feel a lot better about buying stuff overseas.

Though I'm assuming you'd still need to tweak the system language to get your things to work, or does it work regardless?

Well with Baulder's Gate II, that was obviously designed and manufactured in the U.S., then altered for a foreign audience.

As for Metal Slug, I don't know where that was manufactured. Probably Japan. Nevertheless, I'm confident your game will work. I didn't have to tweak anything either, since the only Korean were the menu buttons.

As for in-game text, that was English. For your game, I'm assuming all the text is Japanese. So there's a possibility you may need to tweak some settings.

A-Train 7 is definitely a Japanese manufactured game. Though the only instance I've tried using Japanese software was with the GBA Azumanga Daioh PC demo. It worked, but it had the Japanese menu (which on my machine showed "garbage" text instead of real characters).

But I think now I am more confident in knowing this might work if there is only a few things that need to be tweaked.
