Locked shared folder

I know this is more of a rant rather than a help question but I'm really frustrated right now.

I'm currently running XP on two separate computers both of which are connected to the school network. During the network setup windows asked me whether I wanted to make my shared folders available. I told it no because I didn't want the whole school having access to my shared folder(despite the fact its empty most of the time).

Anyways the issue isn't that others can't get into my shared folder, its that I can't get into my own shared folder. First it renamed itself as Documents instead of SharedDocuments in addition to the fact that my administrator account is blocked from accessing it.

ok, rants over. I'll probably just run the network setup again tomorrow and enable file sharing again. If anyone has any thoughts let me know.

Try disabling 'simple file sharing' in Folder Options, then remove each permission on the folder through it's Security properties, and re-add full-access permission to your username and the Admin account.
