Codecs...

I have discovered getting codecs to work is a big pain... There is a codec that I thought woudl have come with windows, or at the very least came with my camera since it is what the videos from my camera get captured as, but apparently, after installing some other codecs, the Mjpeg codec disappeared, or else it's not reading files that weren't MJPEG as MJPEG... The worst thing is that all the sites I'm finding about the Mjpeg codecs are PAY!! I have to pay for the codecs... What kind of crap is that? I have to pay for a codec that I had until a codec pack erased it for some reason? This is just plain rediculous... There are so many video formats, everyone wants that extra 2 megs in saved space, so they invent 1000 codecs to accomplish that... Bah... If I made a list of the things in life that annoy me, this would certainly make it high on that list... Especially since I can't watch any of the movies I had shot with my digital camera...

This isn't even a good format... It's just what the camera records...

That is an unusual format (I haven't even heard of it). What sort of media does the camera record to? Can you connect the camera by Firewire and transfer it that way?

MJPEG? I've never heard of that. Are you sure it's not MPEG? o.o

MJPEG can either be:
1. Motion Jpeg (More or less jpeg in a video setting). Or it can be:
2. MJPEG ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/mjpeg/ )

Number two is a software package for working with video files on linux, though, so I assume that's not it.

Have you tried (re)installing Quicktime? It comes with a few of the jpeg libraries and might have the one you need.

In any case, you may want to check out this page first:

Just a thought.
